Ian Hamilton RP | ATL
White Sox's Ian Hamilton: Blows save in spectacular fashion
Hamilton served up a walkoff grand slam to Jason Kipnis in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Cleveland.
After Juan Minaya and Caleb Frare put two runners aboard with one out to begin the ninth inning, Hamilton got the call for a shot at his first big-league save. Instead, the rookie plunked Yan Gomes with his first pitch to load the bases before Kipnis ripped a 3-2 changeup over the right-field wall. Hamilton's high-90s fastball is still likely to make him a key part of the White Sox's 2019 bullpen plans, but the 23-year-old isn't quite ready yet to dominate major-league hitters.

Dylan Covey RP | ATL
White Sox's Dylan Covey: Shuts down Cleveland in no-decision
Covey didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Cleveland, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings while striking out five.
The right-hander pitched more than well enough to record his sixth win of the year, but a ninth-inning meltdown by the bullpen instead left Covey empty-handed. His 5.33 ERA on the campaign isn't particularly appealing, but he's lined up for a two-start week to close out the season, facing Cleveland again at home Monday before a road start in Minnesota on Saturday.

Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Blanks Jays in no-decision
Yacabonis didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays, allowing two hits and a walk over four scoreless innings while striking out four.
The right-hander threw 64 pitches (39 strikes) in an impressive performance, but given that he hasn't completed five innings in any of his 10 appearances for Baltimore this season, Yacabonis wasn't likely to collect his first win of the year no matter how well he pitched. As the O's schedule currently stands, he'll get two more chances to work a little deeper and potentially get into the win column -- Tuesday in Boston, and Sept. 30 for the season finale at home against the Astros.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Fans six en route to 15th win
Yarbrough (15-5) picked up the win Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks across four innings. He struck out six.
Yarbrough wasn't exactly sharp Wednesday, but he was able to pick up his 15th win of the season thanks to a plethora of run support from Tampa Bay's offense. Working primarily as a long reliever, the southpaw has posted a 3.88 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 123 strikeouts across 139.1 innings this season.

Jorge Lopez RP | WAS
Royals' Jorge Lopez: Expected to start Thursday
Lopez (ribs) is expected to start Thursday against the Tigers, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Lopez won't be forced to miss a turn through the rotation after exiting his previous start with a left rib contusion. The 25-year-old is 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA and 13:1 K:BB through three starts (19.1 innings) in September.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Undergoes successful surgery
Manaea underwent successful shoulder surgery Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Specifics regarding the procedure remain unknown, though everything apparently went as planned. Manaea is expected to miss all of 2019 after going under the knife. He posted a career-best 3.59 ERA through 27 starts this season prior to suffering the injury.

Stephen Gonsalves RP | LAD
Twins' Stephen Gonsalves: Fires six scoreless in relief
Gonsalves (1-2) picked up the win Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out four across six scoreless innings.
Gonsalves followed "opener" Gabriel Moya and shut down the Tigers en route to his first career big-league victory. The 24-year-old was shifted to the bullpen after struggling as a starter upon initially joining the Twins -- allowing 16 earned runs across 12.1 innings through his first four outings -- and he's responded with nine scoreless innings of relief over his last two appearances. Gonsalves will likely continue to work as a long reliever down the stretch.

Ariel Jurado RP | TEX
Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Serving as primary pitcher Friday
Jurado will serve as the primary pitcher Friday against the Mariners.
Connor Sadzeck is set to "open" Friday's series opener, with Jurado following and covering the bulk of the innings as a long reliever. Jurado has struggled in his first taste of the majors, posting a 7.01 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 17:17 K:BB across 43.2 innings.

Connor Sadzeck RP | MIN
Rangers' Connor Sadzeck: Slated to open Friday
Sadzeck will serve as the opener for Friday's game against the Mariners.
Sadzeck hasn't allowed a run through eight appearances since joining the Rangers at the beginning of September, striking out five batters across 6.1 innings during that stretch. He figures to pitch one or two innings before giving way to long reliever Ariel Jurado.

Ryne Stanek RP | STL
Rays' Ryne Stanek: Set to open Thursday
Stanek will serve as the opener Thursday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Stanek has "started" 26 games this season, compiling a 2.50 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 47 strikeouts across 36 innings in those appearances. He'll pitch one or two innings before giving way to a long reliever.
