Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Remains shut down
Harvey (shoulder) will remain shut down for one more week before resuming a throwing program, MASN Sports reports.
Harvey has been out since early June with a shoulder injury. He suffered a pair of setbacks in August, first with forearm stiffness and then with elbow tendinitis. Injuries are nothing new for the 23-year-old, who hasn't made more than nine starts in a season since 2014. The minor-league playoffs will be over by the time Harvey is ready for game action, so he'll have plenty of time to rest his arm before spring training.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Starts strengthening exercises
Manager Bob Melvin told MLB Network Radio that Manaea (shoulder) started strengthening exercises Monday.
Manaea has been on the shelf since Aug. 26 with rotator cuff tendinitis. While the southpaw seemingly turned a corner Monday, Melvin noted that he still has a long way to go in his rehab and ultimately may not return this season. "It's still kind of dicey whether or not we're going to get him back," said the manager. "I said it was probably 50/50 several days ago, I don't know that it's any better than that at this point."

Jalen Beeks RP | TEX
Rays' Jalen Beeks: Working as primary pitcher Tuesday
Beeks is slated to work as the Rays' primary pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
For the second straight day, the Rays will turn to Ryne Stanek as their opening pitcher, but he'll likely be limited to around one inning before turning things over to Beeks. The left-handed rookie endured a bumpy debut with the Rays on July 28, but since then, he has performed exceptionally in the unconventional bullpen role. Beeks has covered at least three innings in each of his last six outings, posting a 2.63 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over that span.

Rays' Ryne Stanek: Opening second straight game
Stanek will serve as the Rays' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Stanek was the Rays' lead pitcher for Monday's series-opening win, tossing a 1-2-3 first inning before giving way to Yonny Chirinos for the next seven frames. It's expected that Stanek will be capped at around one inning again Tuesday, with Jalen Beeks set to follow him as the Rays' primary pitcher.

Ariel Jurado RP | TEX
Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Tosses four scoreless frames in relief
Jurado pitched four shutout innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out one as he didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Angels.
Jurado entered the game in the third inning after Jeffrey Springs opened the contest. Jurado worked efficiently as a long reliever, tossing 34 of 54 pitches for strikes. The 22-year-old had struggled entering the series opener, owning a 6.69 ERA through seven starts (35 innings), so perhaps he'll manage to build off this successful performance and continue to turn things around in his next outing.

His next turn through the rotation figures to come Sunday in Minnesota.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Grabs 52nd save
Diaz struck out all three batters he faced without allowing a baserunner to record the save Monday against the Orioles.
The Orioles tested Diaz a bit by making him throw 23 pitches, but he still managed to record his 52nd save of the season. After allowing multiple baserunners in his past two appearances, it was a positive sign to see Diaz not allow anyone aboard in Monday's outing. He continues to pace the majors in saves by a wide margin and has posted a 1.90 ERA and 0.78 WHIP across 66.1 innings in the process.
