Royals' Jakob Junis: Extends scoreless streak in win

Junis (2-0) tossed seven scoreless innings while earning the win Monday against the Mariners, allowing one hit and two walks with three strikeouts.

Junis carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning in this one, seeing it tarnished by a one-out infield hit. He was allowed to close out the frame, which he did to extend his scoreless streak to 14 innings to start the season. Junis has been outstanding in the early going and will look to keep it going this weekend against the Angels.

Tigers' Buck Farmer: Hindered by hip spasm Monday

Farmer exited Monday's game against the Indians after experiencing a left hip spasm.

At this point in time, the severity of Farmer's injury is unclear. Although it wouldn't be a surprise if the team held him out of a couple games, more details pertaining to his availability will likely be released in the near future.

Tigers' Buck Farmer: Exits Monday's game early

Farmer left Monday's game against the Indians with what appeared to be a leg injury, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Farmer landed awkwardly on his leg shortly after entering the game. Although he managed to stay in for a bit after he seemed to hurt himself, the Tigers opted to err on the side of caution with the righty. More specific information regarding Farmer's status should be available soon.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Picks up save Monday

Colome threw one shutout inning in Monday's 5-4 victory over the White Sox, earning his second save of the season.

Heading into Monday's game, Colome had blown each of his last two save opportunities. Despite allowing the first two batters he faced to reach base, Colome managed to get back on track and escaped the inning without allowing a run. Moving forward, Colome will look to bring down his unsightly 3.60 WHIP as he aims to move past his shaky start to the season.

  • Ariel Jurado RP | TEX

Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Hits MiLB DL

Jurado is on the disabled list with Double-A Frisco due to a broken nail, Levi Weaver of The Athletic Dallas reports.

Jurado will likely only miss one or two starts as a result of this minor injury. In his first start for the Rough Riders, he allowed three runs on six hits across 4.2 innings of work.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Tabbed for next rehab start Friday

Pomeranz (forearm) will make his next rehab start Friday with Double-A Portland, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

There was a rumor that the southpaw could return to the rotation this weekend, but it appears that the Red Sox want him to work out some kinks with another rehab assignment. Pomeranz struggled with command in his rehab start Sunday, walking six and uncorking a wild pitch in 4.1 innings of work. This means he likely won't be able to return to the big leagues until next week's series with the Angels at the earliest. Hector Velazquez or Brian Johnson will get at least one more spot start in Pomeranz's place.

  • Jaime Barria RP | CLE

Angels' Jaime Barria: Set for spot start Wednesday

Barria will be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday to start against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Barria will be given the opportunity to make his major-league debut Wednesday, as the Angels will require another starter with JC Ramirez (forearm) and Matt Shoemaker (elbow) both landing on the disabled list last week. The 21-year-old posted a 2.80 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 117:31 K:BB across 141.2 innings between three levels in 2017. While Barria is one of the team's better pitching prospects, it may be unwise to expect much from him in his debut, especially considering he has registered just 16.2 innings above Double-A in his professional career.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Orioles' Tanner Scott: Heads back to minors

Scott was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

The Orioles needed a fresh arm after their bullpen threw nearly 12 innings in Sunday's extra innings win over the Yankees, so Scott will head back to Norfolk while fellow pitching prospect Hunter Harvey joins the big club. Scott allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in 1.2 innings of work Sunday. The 23-year-old southpaw should be back with the big club at some point this season.

  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Summoned to big club

Harvey was recalled from Double-A Bowie on Monday.

Harvey was expected to start for Double-A Bowie on Monday, but instead he'll join the big-league bullpen to offer a fresh arm after the Orioles needed nearly 12 innings from their bullpen in Sunday's extra innings win over the Yankees. The highly-regarded prospect still hasn't pitched above Low-A in his professional career, so don't expect him to stick with the big club for long. He'll likely head back to Bowie to continue stretching out as a starter sooner than later.

  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Excels in non-save situation

Chapman tossed a scoreless top of the ninth Sunday in the Yankees' eventual 8-7 loss to the Orioles in 12 innings.

Chapman pumped in 11 of his 14 pitches for strikes and retired the side easily with a strikeout and a pair of groundouts. Though the Yankees have only positioned him for one save chance to date, Chapman has at least been dominant across his five appearances, giving up just one run and striking out nine over five frames.
