Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Angels' Kenley Jansen: Fighting off illness
Jansen was unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to an illness, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Jansen hasn't pitched since he collected his seventh save of the season Saturday. Manager Ron Washington said after Tuesday's game that the veteran reliever should be available out of the bullpen in Wednesday's contest, though that will ultimately depend on how the right-hander is feeling. Jansen owns a 5.79 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 9.1 innings on the season, though all the runs scored against him came during a six-run barrage from the Tigers on Friday.

Guardians' Cody Bolton: Goes on Triple-A IL
Triple-A Columbus placed Bolton on its 7-day injured list Thursday due to an unspecified injury.
The Guardians optioned Bolton to Triple-A on April 29, but he never made an appearance for Columbus before being shut down with the unspecified injury. The reliever faces an uncertain timeline for a return to action.

Franco Aleman P | CLE
Guardians' Franco Aleman: Comes off IL
Triple-A Columbus reinstated Aleman (hip) from its 7-day injured list Monday.
Aleman has been cleared to make his 2025 debut after he required a left hip inguinal hernia repair in February. The 24-year-old right-hander is regarded as one of the Guardians' top reliever prospects and was added to the 40-man roster over the winter after submitting a 1.99 ERA and 34:10 K:BB in 22.2 innings with Columbus in 2024.

Hunter Strickland RP | LAA
Angels' Hunter Strickland: Back with Angels on MiLB deal
Strickland signed a minor-league contract with the Angels on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Strickland was released by the Rangers on Tuesday after turning in an 8.22 ERA across 15.1 innings in Triple-A, but it didn't take long for the 36-year-old to find a new landing spot. He'll reunite with the team he spent the 2024 season with while logging a 3.31 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 73.1 frames. He'll likely need to turn things around in the minors before the Halos give him another look in the big leagues, but the instability of Los Angeles' bullpen makes it more probable that the veteran righty gets the call eventually.

Nick Sandlin RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Nick Sandlin: Progressing in recovery
Sandlin (lat) has been playing catch up to 60 feet, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Sandlin landed on the 15-day injured list April 20 due to a right lat strain. He received a PRP injection to help speed up the recovery process, and he has taken the next step in his rehab program by playing catch. Sandlin posted a 2.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, one save and a 10:4 K:BB across eight innings prior to his placement on the IL.

Penn Murfee RP | CHW
White Sox's Penn Murfee: Outrighted to Charlotte
The White Sox outrighted Murfee to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Murfee lost his place on the major-league roster Sunday after turning in a 7.82 ERA over 12.2 innings, and he has now also lost his 40-man spot. He'll stick with the organization as bullpen depth for the Knights, though he'd likely need to show significant improvement to get another shot in Chicago.

Touki Toussaint RP | LAA
Angels' Touki Toussaint: DFA'd by Halos
The Angels designated Toussaint for assignment Tuesday.
Toussaint made a bullpen appearance for the Angels on Sunday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three over two innings. The 28-year-old will go on waivers and could be claimed by a team looking to bolster its bullpen depth. Toussaint has a 5.32 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 19:14 K:BB across 22 innings in Triple-A this season.

Michael Darrell-Hicks RP | PIT
Angels' Michael Darrell-Hicks: Optioned to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Darrell-Hicks to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Darrell-Hicks made one appearance after being recalled from the minors Saturday, giving up three earned runs in one inning against the Tigers on Sunday. He'll now be sent back to Salt Lake in favor of Connor Brogdon and Hector Neris, who were promoted Tuesday to give Los Angeles a couple of fresh bullpen arms.
-
Hector Neris RP | HOU
Angels' Hector Neris: Joins MLB roster
The Angels selected Neris' contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Since signing a minor-league deal with the Halos on April 17, Neris has given up two earned runs while striking out eight batters and walking one across four innings. He'll now join the big-league bullpen to provide some additional reliever depth, replacing Michael Darrell-Hicks, who was optioned to Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Connor Brogdon RP | CLE
Angels' Connor Brogdon: Selected from Salt Lake
The Angels selected Brogdon's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Brogdon hasn't exactly had a great Triple-A season so far, posting a 12.89 ERA and 2.61 WHIP through 14.2 innings, though he has impressively struck out 21 batters in that span. Despite his poor numbers, he'll join the Angels' bullpen to give the big club a fresh arm. He'll replace Touki Toussaint, who was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot.
