Tigers RP Buck Farmer leaves game with forearm tightness
Tigers reliever Buck Farmer was forced to leave Wednesday's game with right forearm tightness, the team announced.
Farmer faced just three batters before the injury flared up in the seventh inning. He had allowed two hits and one home run before leaving. Farmer complained of tightness in his arm last week and had not pitched since Sept. 2.
"We had kind of avoided him because he had felt a tightness in his forearm, and had it treated for a number of days," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "He said it felt good, and a couple days ago it felt normal. But apparently, he re-aggravated it."

Tyler Duffey could be in, Mike Pelfrey out of Twins rotation
Paul Molitor has revealed that Twins rotation newcomer Tyler Duffey will not necessarily be the odd man out when Phil Hughes returns from a back injury, per the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Duffey has performed well after a rough debut against Toronto. He has since given up only nine runs in 30 1/3 innings and sported a 2-0 record.
Speculation is that slumping veteran Mike Pelfrey could lose his spot. He has just one win in his last 15 starts and has surrendered 14 runs over his last 12 1/3 innings to raise his ERA on the year to 4.17, its highest point since mid-April.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Struggles persist for A's SP Jesse Chavez on Saturday
Athletics starter Jesse Chavez continued his recent trend of poor outings, as he struggled again on Saturday against the Mariners. Chavez allowed five runs on six hits over two-plus innings. He walked five and struck out two, throwing just 24 of his 60 pitches for strikes.
Chavez (7-14, 4.17 ERA) got off to a rocky start, as he allowed three runs in top of the first inning. He gave up a lead-off single in the third inning which was followed by a two-run home run by Logan Morrison. He walked the next batter, and that was all that manager Bob Melvin needed to see before making a switch.
The right-hander is now 2-3 with a 5.25 ERA in his last six starts, and his season ERA is at the highest mark of the season.
