  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Royals' Hunter Harvey: Avoids serious injury

Harvey reported improvement with his back Monday and is considered day-to-day, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Harvey had to be removed from Sunday's appearance against the Cubs with lower-back spasms. He has not been placed on the injured list and looks to have avoided a serious injury. Harvey has yielded one run with a 2:4 K:BB over 2.2 innings since coming over to the Royals in a trade.

  • Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Recalled from minors

The Rangers recalled Garabito from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Garabito was sent down to Round Rock on Thursday to make room on the 26-man roster for Dane Dunning, but the former is eligible to return to the big club early since Jon Gray (groin) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Though Garabito will be deployed out of the bullpen in his return to the big club, he could be a candidate to eat innings Friday versus the Red Sox, when Gray's next turn through the rotation is scheduled to come up. Garabito has made eight starts across 11 outings in Triple-A this season, logging a 3.56 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 48 innings.

White Sox's Sammy Peralta: Moves up from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Peralta from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Red Sox's Chris Martin: Slated for side session

Martin (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Martin has been on the injured list since July 5 with right elbow inflammation, but he's set to advance to the final phase of his recovery program if his upcoming bullpen session goes well. Assuming he escapes the workout no worse for the wear, Martin could begin a rehab assignment as soon as this weekend. Martin owns a 3.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 10 holds across 26.1 innings this season.

  • Kaleb Ort RP | LAA

    Astros' Kaleb Ort: Rejoins bullpen

The Astros recalled Ort from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Ort has turned in three spotless innings during his time with the Astros this season, striking out six along the way. He'll provide the bullpen with a fresh right-handed arm.

  • Shawn Dubin RP | ARI

Astros' Shawn Dubin: Heads down to minors

The Astros optioned Dubin to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Dubin had pitched both of the last two days, so the Astros will replace him with a fresh bullpen arm in right-hander Kaleb Ort, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Will Klein RP | LAD

Royals' Will Klein: Moves up from Triple-A

The Royals recalled Klein from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Klein has permitted four runs over 5.2 relief innings during his time with the big club this season. The right-hander will operate in low-leverage spots out of the bullpen.

  • Royals' John Schreiber: Placed on 15-day IL

The Royals placed Schreiber on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right knee patella tendon injury.

Schreiber suffered the injury during a relief appearance Sunday against the Cubs. The Royals haven't provided a timeline for Schreiber's return from the IL, but he'll be out of commission for at least two weeks. Will Klein was recalled from Triple-A Omaha to replace Schreiber in the bullpen.

  • Trey Wingenter RP | CHC

Red Sox's Trey Wingenter: Rejoins bullpen

The Red Sox recalled Wingenter from Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster and the bullpen as a replacement for Greg Weissert, who was optioned to Worcester. Wingenter surrendered three runs over one inning in his lone appearance with the Red Sox earlier this month.

  • Greg Weissert RP | BOS

Red Sox's Greg Weissert: Sent back to minors

The Red Sox optioned Weissert to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Weissert has struggled over the last month, giving up 17 runs across 12.2 innings covering his last 11 relief appearances. He'll be moved off the active roster to clear a spot for Trey Wingenter.
