  • Andre Pallante RP | STL

Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Handed first loss

Pallante (2-1) allowed a run on two hits and struck out one without walking a batter over one inning, taking the loss Monday versus the Marlins.

Pallante allowed an inherited runner to score the tying run, then gave up another run in the seventh inning in relief of Miles Mikolas. Over 9.1 innings in July, Pallante was tagged for four runs on eight hits and eight walks. He's been fortunate to avoid taking a loss prior to Monday, as he has an uninspiring 4.11 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB through 30.2 big-league innings this season. The right-hander has added eight holds and three blown saves -- he's seen more high-leverage work with Ryan Helsley (forearm) on the injured list.

  • Evan Phillips RP | LAD

Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Earns 12th save

Phillips hit a batter but did not yield a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

Phillips threw 14 pitches (nine strikes) in the outing, erasing the hit batsman with a double play before getting Bryan Reynolds to fly out. Phillips has put a runner on base in four of his last five appearances, but he's riding a 10.1-inning scoreless streak dating back to June 13. He's up to 12 saves, six holds, a 1.85 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 39:7 K:BB through 34 innings this season. Phillips remains in a committee situation, but he's pitched well enough to continue seeing save chances.

  • Camilo Doval RP | NYY

Giants' Camilo Doval: Lit up in non-save situation

Doval (2-3) allowed four runs on three hits and struck out one without walking a batter in one inning, taking the loss Monday versus the Mariners.

It wasn't a save situation, but Doval allowed the Mariners to rally for a lead in the ninth inning after entering a 2-2 game. This was the first time he's allowed multiple runs since April 14 against the Tigers, when he gave up three unearned runs over 1.2 innings. The bad outing spiked his ERA to 2.77 with a 1.10 WHIP and 54:17 K:BB through 39 innings this season. Given his strong performance and track record of success with 24 saves in 26 tries, this one poor showing is unlikely to cost him closing duties.

  • A.J. Puk RP | ARI

Marlins' A.J. Puk: Picks up 14th save

Puk allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning Monday, striking out one batter and earning a save against the Cardinals.

Puk coughed up a leadoff single but managed to close out the 5-4 victory. He's converted four straight save chances after coughing up three runs in a blown opportunity against the Pirates on June 23. Puk lowered his season ERA to 2.77 with 14 saves and a 29:4 K:BB.

  • Alexis Diaz RP | TEX

Reds' Alexis Diaz: Picks up save

Diaz allowed one hit in a scoreless inning while earning a save over Washington on Monday.

Diaz worked around a one-out single to pick up his 24th save of the year Monday. It was his first scoreless appearance since June 28 after allowing a run in each of his last two outings. The 26-year-old lowered his season ERA to 2.13 with a 58:19 K:BB through 38 innings. However, he's punched out just one batter over his last four frames.

  • Devin Williams RP | NYM

Brewers' Devin Williams: Grabs 18th save

Williams picked up the save in Monday's 8-6 victory over the Cubs. He worked around a hit and a walk, logging a strikeout in a scoreless inning.

Williams has now converted eight straight save opportunities, including his last two in back-to-back games. The 28-year-old right-hander has thrown nine consecutive scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 1.47 with a 1.01 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB across 30.2 innings this season.

  • Dodgers' Victor Gonzalez: Sent to Triple-A

Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gonzalez was knocked around for three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings Monday in Kansas City, and he'll now head to Triple-A to make room for a fresh arm in Gavin Stone. Gonzalez owns a 5.32 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with a 22:7 K:BB across 23.2 frames so far this season with the Dodgers.

  • Edwin Uceta RP | TB

Mets' Edwin Uceta: Goes to 60-day IL

The Mets transferred Uceta (knee) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction won't affect Uceta's timeline for rejoining the Mets, as he had already missed more than two months after landing on the 15-day IL on April 25 due to a left ankle sprain. He resumed a rehab assignment in early May, only to develop a left knee injury during that time before he was ultimately diagnosed with a torn meniscus, which he had surgically repaired June 9. The Mets likely won't have a precise timeline for Uceta's return from the IL until he resumes a throwing program.

  • Thad Ward RP | WAS

Nationals' Thaddeus Ward: Hits IL with shoulder inflammation

The Nationals placed Ward on the 15-day injured list Monday with right shoulder inflammation, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The rookie Rule 5 selection will head to the IL to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for lefty Patrick Corbin (personal), who was reinstated from the bereavement list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday versus the Reds. Considering Ward owns a 7.12 ERA and 1.65 WHIP and has yet to record a hold or save among his 22 relief appearances this season, his move to the IL should go largely unnoticed in fantasy circles.

  • Trevor Gott RP | WAS

Mets' Trevor Gott: Dealt to New York

Gott and right-hander Chris Flexen were traded to the Mets from the Mariners in exchange for southpaw Zach Muckenhirn on Monday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Gott will head to New York as the Mets look to bolster their bullpen. The 30-year-old has produced a 4.03 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 32 strikeouts over 29 innings in 30 appearances with the Mariners this season and will likely operate in a middle-relief role with his new squad.
