Brandon Hughes RP | CHC
Cubs' Brandon Hughes: Continuing rehab assignment Tuesday
Hughes (knee) is set to make his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Hughes will get in another tune-up outing after he struck out one over a scoreless inning Saturday for Iowa while scattering two hits and a walk. If Hughes' left knee checks out fine following his upcoming appearance Tuesday, he could be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list ahead of this weekend's series in Los Angeles.

Steven Okert RP | HOU
Marlins' Steven Okert: Another rehab outing on tap
Okert (groin) is scheduled to make his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
If all goes well during Okert's upcoming outing, he could be reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of the Marlins' series with the Diamondbacks this weekend. Okert was sharp during his first appearance for Jacksonville on Sunday, issuing one walk and giving up no hits while striking out three batters in the one-inning, 21-pitch outing.

Tommy Nance RP | TOR
Marlins' Tommy Nance: Ups pitch count in bullpen session
Nance (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Nance had been limited to throwing a 20-pitch bullpen session last week, so he appears to be taking an incremental step forward as he works his way back from a sore right shoulder. The 32-year-old will likely handle a low-leverage role out of the Miami bullpen once activated from the 15-day injured list.

Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: No mound work yet
Iglesias (shoulder) said Monday that he has yet to resume throwing off a mound, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Iglesias has thrown on flat ground three times, including on consecutive days, and feels good. However, a timetable for him to throw a bullpen session hasn't yet been established, further pushing back his potential return date from the 15-day injured list. Iglesias is working his way back from low-grade right shoulder inflammation, which he developed just before Opening Day. A.J. Minter has been serving as the team's primary closer with Iglesias out.

George Soriano RP | STL
Marlins' George Soriano: On cusp of MLB debut
The Marlins recalled Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Soriano, who was added to the Marlins' 40-man roster over the winter, will join the MLB club for the first time in his young career, replacing the injured JT Chargois (oblique) in the bullpen. The 24-year-old right-hander could be available as a multi-inning option after compiling a 2.72 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 85:40 K:BB across 76 frames between Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola in 2022.

JT Chargois RP | TEX
Marlins' JT Chargois: Shelved with oblique strain
The Marlins placed Chargois on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Chargois made it just three pitches into his appearance out of the bullpen in Sunday's win over the Mets before departing with a previously undisclosed injury. The Marlins have now provided an updated diagnosis for Chargois, who will now be on the shelf for at least the next two and a half weeks while he recovers from the side strain. Miami summoned George Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville to replace Chargois on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen.

John Brebbia RP | COL
Giants' John Brebbia: Gets win Sunday
Brebbia (1-0) struck out the only batter he faced to earn the win Sunday versus the Royals.
Brebbia got the last out in the top of the eighth inning, and the Giants rallied ahead in the home half of the frame. Through 3.2 innings on the year, Brebbia has allowed three hits and one run, which came March 30 in his season debut. He's recorded six strikeouts and no walks with one hold. The right-hander isn't in contention for save chances with Camilo Doval, Taylor Rogers and Tyler Rogers around, but Brebbia could have some appeal if he can pick up holds in a fireman role.

Alek Jacob RP | SD
Padres' Alek Jacob: Out with shoulder injury
Jacob is out with a right shoulder injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.
A 24-year-old righty reliever, Jacob had a 2.68 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 57 innings across stops in the three highest levels of the minors last year. If he is able to get healthy, he would probably be assigned to Double-A or Triple-A.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | CHW
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Takes loss Sunday
Dominguez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Sunday against the Reds. He allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over one inning.
Dominguez was called upon for his first save opportunity of the season Sunday with the Phillies holding a one-run lead, but he gave up a pair of walks, a single and a double with one out in the ninth inning to lose the lead. While the right-hander had tossed three scoreless innings in his last three appearances, he's given up at least three runs in two of his first five outings in 2023. The Phillies haven't had many save chances early in the season, but Craig Kimbrel, Gregory Soto and Jose Alvarado could see some ninth-inning work given Dominguez's struggles.
