Johnson (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Johnson was sidelined since mid-April due to an elbow injury, but he recently completed a rehab assignment in which he posted a 1.50 ERA and 0.33 WHIP in six innings over six relief appearances. The right-hander picked up five holds over six appearances to begin the season, and it's possible that he works his way into some setup duties for San Diego down the stretch.

Brebbia will be the first pitcher on the mound in a bullpen game Sunday against the Cubs, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants continue to turn to bullpen games rather than use another starter in place of Alex Wood (shoulder). Sunday's game will technically be Brebbia's fifth start of the season, but don't expect him to pitch deep into the game. He pitched exactly one inning in each of his previous four "starts" this season.

Knehr was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Knehr joined the Padres' bullpen last week after active rosters expanded to 28 players, but he gave up four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in 1.2 innings during his lone appearance following his promotion. He'll head back to the minors since Pierce Johnson (elbow) is expected to be reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Gott (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment at High-A Wisconsin on Sunday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Gott landed on the injured list with a right forearm strain just under a month ago, but he resumed throwing in late August. He's expected to make just one appearance at Wisconsin prior to reporting to Nashville, and it's possible that he'll be cleared to return by next weekend.

Naile was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.

Naile was called up by the Cardinals on Sept. 1, and he allowed five runs in three innings over two appearances during his time with the big-league club. He'll head back to the minors after Packy Naughton was recalled Saturday.

Naughton spent just over two weeks in the minors and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks while striking out four in four innings over three relief appearances following his demotion. However, he'll rejoin the Cardinals' bullpen after James Naile was sent down Saturday.

Nelson recorded the final out of Friday's 5-3 win over the Nationals to collect his first career save.

Brad Hand entered the game to begin the ninth inning, but after he surrendered a pair of two-out singles, Phillies interim manager Rob Thomson turned to Nelson to finish up. The right-hander doesn't seem likely to see consistent high-leverage usage going forward, however, as he's posted a 6.75 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB through 13.1 innings since the beginning of August.

Floro worked a perfect ninth inning Friday without striking out a batter to record his fourth save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Mets.

Tanner Scott was brought in to begin the seventh inning in a 4-3 game, leaving closing duties for Floro when the ninth rolled around. The right-hander's been effective in the second half, posting a 2.50 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB through 18 innings since the All-Star break with a win, two saves and two holds. If Scott's control issues persist, Floro could see more save chances over the final weeks.

Bard (5-4) pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the win Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Bard entered the game with the score tied in the ninth inning and didn't allow a baserunner. Elias Diaz hit a three-run home run to give the Rockies a victory in the bottom of the frame, handing Bard his fifth win of the season. Bard has turned in five consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run, and he's tallied two wins and two saves in that span. For the season, Bard has maintained a 2.10 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with a 54:24 K:BB across 51.1 innings.

Treinen was unavailable Friday against the Padres due to arm soreness, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Treinen has been effective over two appearances since returning to action, allowing no hits and a walk while striking out one in two scoreless innings over two outings. However, he hasn't pitched since Monday and has apparently been down with an arm issue. Manager Dave Roberts didn't sound too concerned about the injury, so Treinen should be considered day-to-day.
