Crowe is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Cubs in Chicago, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Crowe made 25 starts for the Pirates in 2021, but he's worked exclusively as a reliever so far this season, covering 21 innings over 13 appearances while accruing a 2.57 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. Since he hasn't worked more than two innings in any of his outings since April 21 and will be pitching Wednesday on three days' rest, Crowe could be deployed as a glorified opener in front of Mitch Keller, who was initially scheduled to start before being moved to the bullpen.

Bender (1-3) picked up the win in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the Nationals, giving up two hits and striking out one in a scoreless inning of relief.

While the win is nice, it's a little concerning for his long-term fantasy outlook than Bender entered a scoreless tie in the fifth inning. The right-hander has yet to record a save in May after reeling off four in five days at the end of April, and while Dylan Floro has struggled since coming off the injured list, Bender's usage Tuesday suggests he might be moving into a lower-leverage role and out of the ninth inning. On the season, he carries a 3.86 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB through 14 innings while converting six of eight save chances.

Adon (1-7) took the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits over 4.2 innings as the Nationals fell 5-1 to the Marlins. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The 23-year-old now leads the majors in losses, but this one wasn't really his fault as the Nats gave Adon very little help. He tossed 84 pitches (54 strikes) before exiting, and the right-hander has failed to complete five innings in six of his eight starts this season. Adon will carry a 6.38 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and poor 31:23 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next outing.

Diaz picked up his ninth save of the season in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, giving up a hit and a walk but striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

The 28-year-old righty recorded all his outs via strikeout for the second straight appearance, continuing a dominant stretch that has seen Diaz fan multiple batters in 11 of his 16 outings to begin the season. He boasts an eye-popping 50.0 percent strikeout rate that would be the best of his career if he can keep it up, and Diaz's 1.69 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and nine saves in 10 chances aren't too shabby either.

Doval picked up the save, allowing two walks and striking out one in the ninth inning of a 10-7 win Tuesday in Colorado.

Doval retired the first two hitters on six pitches before walking consecutive batters. C.J. Cron then looped a fly ball to centerfield and Austin Slater made a nice play to end the threat and the game. Since allowing three runs in a blown save on Opening Day, Doval has been stellar, giving up just one run in 14.2 innings and converting all seven save opportunities.

Gallegos recorded the save during Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets after allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning. He had two strikeouts and one walk.

The right-hander issued a one-out walk and gave up a single to put the winning run on base, but he bounced back to strike out Mark Canha and Francisco Lindor. It was Gallegos' first save chance since May 6, and he's converted seven of eight opportunities this season with a 3.46 ERA and 12:4 K:BB across 13 innings.

Gilbert (0-2) took the loss during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers after giving up six runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks over 5.2 innings.

The left-hander began the matinee by allowing only a solo home run through five innings, but he gave up five runs on two walks and four hits -- including three more long balls -- during the sixth frame. Gilbert had a 2.08 ERA across 8.2 innings to begin the season, but Tuesday's performance ballooned his ERA to 5.02, and he's now likely to return to Triple-A Reno after serving as the 27th man for the twin bill.

Kimbrel recorded the save during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against Arizona after giving up a run on a hit during the ninth inning. He had three strikeouts and a walk.

The 33-year-old issued a leadoff walk to Geraldo Perdomo but rebounded to whiff the next two batters, though Perdomo made his way to third base and came around to score on an infield single. Kimbrel has earned saves in each of the past two days but has allowed three runs, which are the first runs he's surrendered since his season debut. The right-hander is 7-for-7 in save chances and has a 3.38 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB across 10.2 innings this year, and he could be unavailable Wednesday after throwing 29 pitches.

Thompson (3-0) registered the win during Tuesday's 7-0 victory over Pittsburgh, allowing four hits with five strikeouts in five scoreless innings.

Making his second start of the season, Thompson shut down Pittsburgh's offense in allowing no more than one baserunner in any one inning. After exceeding expectations in a multi-inning role, the 27-year-old has seen that success carry over with a total of two runs allowed on nine hits and two walks with six strikeouts in nine innings as a starter. Thompson and his 1.41 ERA should have the inside track for Sunday's game against Arizona, though Chicago is yet to tab a starter.

Matzek has no structural damage in his left shoulder and has been shut down from throwing for a couple weeks before being re-evaluated, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander underwent an MRI after landing on the injured list with shoulder inflammation Tuesday, and he's avoided a more serious injury. Matzek figures to be sidelined until at least mid-June, as he'll need some time to build his arm back up after the shutdown.
