Bednar struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning of Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Brewers.

He's appeared in only four games since the trade deadline's passed, allowing one earned run in 6.1 innings with two hits, one walk and eight strikeouts. Fellow high-leverage reliever Chris Stratton has struggled in August, allowing seven runs in four innings. For his part, Bednar's future remains bright and he projects as the team's closer heading into 2022.

Coonrod (forearm) is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

On the shelf since June 25 with right forearm tendinitis, Coonrod initially appeared on track to rejoin the Phillies within a month, but he was pulled off his rehab assignment in July after two appearances when he experienced a setback. The right-hander was cleared to resume his throwing program shortly thereafter, and he now looks ready to test his forearm out in a game setting once again. He's expected to remain in the minors for a week before the Phillies likely bring him back from the 60-day injured list for their two-game set with the Rays that begins Aug. 24. The 28-year-old reliever compiled a 4.18 ERA and 1.29 WHIP to go with eight holds and two saves in 27 appearances before landing on the IL.

Manager Derek Shelton said Sunday after the Pirates' 2-1 loss to the Brewers that Peters will remain in the Pittsburgh rotation for at least one more turn, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Peters was summoned from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday and stepped in as a replacement for starter Bryse Wilson, who was moved to the 10-day injured list with general fatigue. The 28-year-old lefty took the loss in his Pirates debut, but he did well to limit the Brewers to two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. Peters tentatively lines up to make his next start Saturday in St. Louis.

Knehr (1-0) allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out one across two innings, earning the win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Knehr was called up prior to Sunday's game to fill innings in the scheduled bullpen game. He entered in the third inning in a tie game and allowed a run in the third frame on a Ketel Marte triple. However, the Padres scored three in the fifth frame to take the lead and put Knehr in line for the win. The 24-year-old has allowed just one run in 6.1 innings over his past three appearances. On the season, he has a 2.77 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 13 innings.

Peters (0-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 4.2 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus Milwaukee.

The southpaw made his first major-league appearance of 2021, but he wasn't very effective. Peters was let down by his defense in the first inning, and he gave up an RBI double to Christian Yelich in the third. The 28-year-old could remain in the rotation while Bryse Wilson (general soreness) is on the shelf, but Peters isn't likely to have much fantasy relevance on a subpar Pittsburgh team. His next turn through the rotation is tentatively scheduled for next weekend in St. Louis.

Suter (12-5) struck out two in a perfect inning, earning the win Sunday versus Pittsburgh.

The southpaw worked the fifth inning after Eric Lauer lasted only four frames in his return from the COVID-19 injured list. Suter kept Pittsburgh off the bases, and Milwaukee held onto a narrow 2-1 lead to the end of the game. As a multi-inning reliever, Suter has been particularly effective at snagging wins this year. He's added a save, six holds and seven blown saves while posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 57:18 K:BB through 57.2 innings.

Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh.

Milwaukee's closer has made two appearances since returning from the COVID-19 injured list, striking out five while allowing just one hit across two innings. Hader made quick work of the Pirates on Sunday, needing just 12 pitches to close out the contest. The hard-throwing lefty has a 1.74 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 72:14 K:BB and 23 saves in 24 chances across 41.1 innings.

Sims (5-2) struck out two in 1.1 perfect innings to earn the win Sunday against the Phillies.

Sims was charged with a loss and blown save in his last appearance when he allowed three runs (two earned) in two-thirds of an inning against Atlanta on Wednesday. However, he worked as a middle reliever Sunday and earned his fifth win of the season after he relieved starter Sonny Gray in the bottom of the fifth inning. The 27-year-old has made three appearances since he returned from the injured list, and he's held the opposition scoreless in two of those outings.

Hernandez allowed a run on four hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in Sunday's win over the Cubs. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

It was Hernandez's third MLB appearance this season and first since June 3 after his second stint on the 60-day injured list. He showed no signs of rust, cruising through five shutout innings to begin the game. The only blemish on his outing was a solo shot off the bat of Frank Schwindel in the sixth. It's been a small sample size, but Hernandez has impressed this season with a 2.84 ERA and a 13:1 K:BB over 12.2 frames. He's projected to take the mound in Cincinnati next week.

Floro allowed a walk and a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday, striking out two and picking up a save over the Cubs.

Floro gave up a single and a walk to start the ninth but retired the final three batters, including two on punchouts, to escape the jam and finish off the win. He's now 5-for-9 in save chances (3-for-4 in August) with a 3.02 ERA through 47.2 innings this season. The 30-year-old righty has given up four runs on six hits and a pair of walks over his last five appearances.
