Cimber (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Marlins fell 6-5 to the Mets in 12 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits over two innings. He struck out one.

It was a worst-case scenario for Miami as the team's bullpen day ended up involving the entire bullpen. Cimber was the 10th pitcher used by the team on the night, and after he held the Mets in check in the 11th, the wheels came off in the top of the 12th. The right-hander remains a low-leverage option for the Marlins, and Cimber has yet to record a hold or save while posting a 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB through 22 innings.

Treinen picked up the save Friday against San Francisco by pitching a perfect ninth inning.

Usual closer Kenley Jansen had pitched three times in the previous four days, so manager Dave Roberts declared the right-hander unavailable for Friday's contest. With Los Angeles protecting a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, Treinen was called upon to close out the game in Jansen's stead. He had little trouble doing so, retiring the side on only eight pitches. Treinen has been one of baseball's top setup men this season, registering a 1.89 ERA, 22:5 K:BB and 11 holds across 20 appearances. Jansen has been effective and will continue to log most save chances, but Treinen figures to be first in line when the veteran closer needs a breather.

Hoffman (3-3) earned the win Friday against the Brewers after tossing five innings of one-run ball, giving up two hits and four walks while fanning seven.

Hoffman lasted at least five innings for the first time since April 22 while recording his first win since April 16. The right-hander has posted a 6.13 ERA this month, which is a marked increase on the 3.33 ERA he had in five April appearances.

Hudson recorded one strikeout in a perfect eighth inning Friday against the Orioles en route to his eighth hold of the season.

Brad Hand, who came in with a 4-0 lead in the ninth inning, gave up a two-run home run and has now given up at least one run in five of his last six appearances. If Hand were to lose the closer's job, Hudson appears to be the top candidate to step in.

Hand gave up two runs on two hits without recording a strikeout or issuing a walk in one inning Friday against the Orioles.

Daniel Hudson pitched a perfect eighth inning and Hand came in with a 4-0 lead in the ninth and coughed up two runs on a Freddy Galvis home run that also scored Trey Mancini. Hand has now given up at least one run in five of his last six appearances, and he has given up three home runs over his last four innings. His grip on the closer's role seems to be slipping by the day.

Wilson will be called up to start Saturday's game against the Pirates, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

It's certainly a favorable matchup for Wilson, who has a 3.27 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB in 11 innings (two starts) at Triple-A Gwinnett. He was less successful in the big-league rotation earlier this season, logging a 5.50 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB in 18 innings (four starts). If Wilson impresses this time out, he could stick around while Huascar Ynoa (hand) is on the injured list.

Helsley earned his second hold Wednesday against the Pirates with a scoreless two-thirds of an inning, his fifth straight appearance of that length, but he has a 10.80 ERA over that stretch.

After similar inconsistency over his first three outings of the campaign, Helsley appeared to hit his stride by fashioning a 0.66 ERA and 0.80 WHIP across a 14-appearance stretch with two wins, a save and a hold. However, a recent pair of hiccups have contributed to his ratios on the season remaining at an elevated 4.91 ERA and 1.47 WHIP.

Hildenberger was designated for assignment Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

He was claimed by the Giants just three days ago, but will relinquish his 40-man roster spot to Nick Tropeano, whose contract was selected.

The rookie righty has a bright future in relief, but he registered a 7.59 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 10.2 innings during his first stint with the Giants. Nick Tropeano was added to the big-league bullpen in a corresponding move.

Yamamoto joined the Mets in Miami on Friday and is expected to start one of the weekend games against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The Mets are dealing with injuries seemingly everywhere at the moment, including in the rotation. The team has yet to announce its starting pitcher for either Saturday or Sunday's contest, but one of them will presumably be Yamamoto. He'll get the chance to face his former team, a club for which he struggled to a 6.20 ERA in 90 innings over the last two seasons.
