Castano (0-2) took the loss Saturday as the Marlins were downed 6-2 by the Brewers, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw embarrassingly gave up a solo shot to Adrian Houser in the fourth inning -- the second time this season he's been taken deep by the Milwaukee hurler. Castano has shown little sign of becoming an effective rotation option for Miami, posting a 5.19 ERA and 10:7 K:BB through 17.1 innings, but the team's lack of healthy alternatives will likely mean he gets more chances.

Alexander (shoulder) isn't expected to miss much more than the minimum 10 days while on the injured list, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Alexander will be eligible to return Friday and is expected to return that day or not long after. He was having a strong season before his shoulder inflammation popped up, posting a 2.31 ERA and 0.69 WHIP through 11.2 innings.

Crowe allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over six innings during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs. He had five strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

The 26-year-old surrendered a run on a bases-loaded hit by pitch during the first inning and a second run on a sacrifice fly during the fourth as he held the Cubs without an extra-base hit. Crowe tentatively lines up for another start Thursday against the Giants, though he could shift to the bullpen if Chad Kuhl (shoulder) is cleared to return from the injured list.

Hand blew his first save of the season Saturday against the Yankees, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in one inning of work.

Hand was tasked with shutting down the top of the Yankees' lineup with a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. He failed to do so, allowing the game-tying run on a walk and a pair of singles. He remained in the game in the 10th inning but was pulled after allowing leadoff batter Mike Ford to hit a go-ahead single. The blown save was Hand's first since 2019, as he was successful in all 16 of his opportunities last year in addition to his first three this season.

Kimbrel allowed one walk with zero strikeouts during a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Saturday versus Pittsburgh.

The 32-year-old delivered a two-out walk to Phillip Evans but otherwise had no issues setting down the Pirates. Kimbrel is 6-for-7 in save chances with a 0.64 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB through 14 innings to begin the 2021 campaign.

Uceta was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

The 23-year-old rejoined the big-league club Wednesday and delivered 2.1 scoreless frames during his brief time with the team. Uceta has given up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks across 4.1 innings on the season for the Dodgers.

Reyes allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out three over 1.2 innings to earn the save Saturday versus Colorado.

The 26-year-old didn't surrender a run through his first 15 appearances of the season, but he entered with runners on base during the eighth inning and walked a batter who came around to score. The right-hander returned for the ninth inning and promptly struck out the side. Reyes has converted all 10 of his save opportunities and has a 0.53 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 19:13 K:BB through 17 innings this season.

Suter (calf) landed on the bereavement list Saturday.

Suter will be eligible to return as soon as Tuesday. It's unclear whether or not he's expected to do so, as he's also dealing with calf cramps after exiting his start Friday against the Marlins after just 2.1 innings.

Hernandez (biceps) is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week provided his live batting practice session goes well Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez has been making steady progress as he works his way back from biceps inflammation, an injury which forced him to leave his first start of the year early. He's only expected to throw 20 pitches Saturday, so he'll likely need multiple rehab starts before he's built up to a starter's workload.

Castano will be recalled to start Saturday's game against the Brewers, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Castano has made three starts this season. His 4.73 ERA could be worse -- his 5.63 FIP and 5.68 xFIP indicate that it should have been worse. He's allowed far too much contact, striking out just 8.6 percent of opposing batters. A corresponding move has not yet been announced.
