Bard (4-2) picked up the win Thursday against the Giants, allowing one hit and two walks across 2.2 scoreless innings. He struck out one.

Bard entered with one out and the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth. He kept the Giants off the board through the 10th inning and ended up picking up his fourth win after the Rockies took the lead in the 11th. Overall, Bard has logged 27 strikeouts and a 3.65 ERA while notching six saves on the season.

Diaz gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Thursday against the Nationals but escaped with his sixth save of the season. He struck out one batter.

Diaz's streak of consecutive scoreless appearances ended at 10, but he eventually shut the door, making him 4-for-4 in save chances this month. The right-hander has a sparkling 1.80 ERA overall this season, though he lost the closer role for a while early on and it took Seth Lugo returning to the rotation for him to get it back. Diaz faces an uncertain future with the organization.

Castano was recalled by the Marlins on Thursday.

Castano was sent down Saturday, but he'll return to the majors with four days remaining in the regular season. The southpaw has worked solely as a starter in his first taste of major-league action this year. The Marlins have their rotation set for the remainder of the regular season, so Castano will likely come out of the bullpen for the remainder of 2020.

Hudson (forearm) met with head team physician Dr. George Paletta on Wednesday and will seek a second opinion and further evaluation on his injured forearm, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander was just placed on the 45-day injured list Tuesday, and he has some time to figure out his options since he won't be pitching again this regular season or postseason, if the Cardinals qualify. President of baseball operations John Mozeliak noted Wednesday that the seeking of a second opinion is simply part of the process of Hudson setting himself up as best as possible to not miss time in 2021. "Our doctors have reviewed the MRI, but you still want to do the normal consultation," Mozeliak said. "Until that happens, there are no decisions made for next steps. ... Obviously, the fact that we're ruling out the remainder of this year is saying something."

White was optioned to the Dodgers' alternate training site Thursday.

He has not allowed a run while striking out two in three innings over two appearances this season. White may not be heard from again until 2021.

Jackson (2-0) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five across four innings Wednesday as he earned the win over the Marlins.

Jackson had to enter the game to begin the second inning after Max Fried (ankle) was forced out of the game as a precautionary measure after tweaking his ankle while fielding a bunted ball in the first. The 29-year-old had a clean outing aside from his effort in the fourth when he allowed two runs to score. Jackson's dependability has taken a tumble in 2020 as the right-hander has a 5.33 ERA and 20:12 K:BB in 25.1 innings this season.

Clarke will start the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Rockies.

Clarke's last outing was more than a week ago when he pitched five relief innings and earned the win in over the Angels. Prior to that, he made four turns through the rotation, so he should have the distance to qualify for a win.

Young allowed three runs over five innings, giving up six hits and a walk while striking out five during Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.

Young and Rangers starter Wes Benjamin both tossed five innings of three-run ball, with Young's run support coming immediately after both left the ballgame. Young concludes his season with a 5.44 ERA and a streak of allowing at least two runs in each of his past seven starts.

Chafin (1-2) recorded two outs prior to giving up a walk-off solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates.

Making his first appearance since August 20 after dealing with a sprained finger, Chafin was a strike away from a scoreless ninth before Jacob Stallings pulled a game-winning home run into the stands. Chafin carries a 7.56 ERA into the final days of the season.

Doyle's contract was selected by the Rockies on Wednesday.

Doyle spent the entire 2020 season at the Rockies' alternate training site, but he'll be available to make his major-league debut over the final several games of the regular season. The right-hander posted a 3.25 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 36 innings at the High-A level in 2019.
