  • Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Records four-out save

Halvorsen earned the save in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Astros, allowing one run on three hits while striking out one batter in 1.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.

Halvorsen was brought in for the eighth inning to record the final out and came back out for the ninth to protect the Rockies' two-run lead. He gave up a triple and an RBI groundout to start the frame and yielded back-to-back singles, but he managed to escape with the save after getting Cooper Hummel to fly out to right field. It was Halvorsen's seventh save of the season (and fifth since the beginning of June), and he now has a 4.15 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 34.2 innings.

  • Zach Pop RP | PHI

Mets' Zach Pop: Lands in Queens

Pop signed a major-league contract with the Mets on Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Pop opted for free agency Wednesday after being DFA'd by the Mariners, and it didn't take long for him to find a new home. The 28-year-old righty will join the Mets' big-league bullpen after giving up eight earned runs in just 5.1 innings during his time in Seattle. His recent struggles will most likely limit him to low-leverage work while in New York.

  • Joe Jimenez RP | ATL

Braves' Joe Jimenez: Throws bullpen session

Jimenez (knee) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It was his first time throwing off a mound since he had left knee surgery last November. Jimenez maintains hope of being ready to pitch for Atlanta sometime in August, but the reliever still has many hoops to jump through before making that a reality.

  • Marlins' Ronny Henriquez: Collects fifth save

Henriquez earned the save in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Twins, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Henriquez was brought in to protect the Marlins' three-run lead, and he needed 15 pitches (11 strikes) to get the job done. He has logged a save in each of his last three outings and appears to have taken the Marlins' closing gig from Calvin Faucher, who registered a hold after tossing a scoreless eighth. Henriquez has yielded just one earned run over his last 10 outings, which has brought him down to a 2.79 ERA and 1.19 WHIP across 42 innings with 58 strikeouts this season.

  • Rico Garcia RP | BAL

    Mets' Rico Garcia: Promotion official

The Mets selected Garcia's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Garcia will come up from Syracuse to provide the Mets with some additional bullpen depth following the placement of Paul Blackburn (shoulder) and Dedniel Nunez (elbow) on the injured list and Blade Tidwell's demotion to Triple-A. Garcia, 31, hasn't appeared in a major-league game since 2023 and will likely be used in low-leverage situations.

  • Mets' Justin Hagenman: Recalled from Syracuse

The Mets recalled Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Hagenman has struggled to begin the season in Triple-A, accumulating a 6.21 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 42 innings. However, the Mets are dealing with a shortage of rotation arms following Paul Blackburn's (shoulder) move to the IL and Blade Tidwell's move back to Syracuse, so Hagenman could be in the mix to make a start or two for New York leading up to the All-Star break. He could also just be up with the big club as a long-relief option.

  • Austin Warren RP | NYM

Mets' Austin Warren: Returning to Queens

The Mets recalled Warren from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

The Mets returned Warren to Syracuse earlier Thursday after he worked as the 27th man for Wednesday's twin bill, but he'll end up sticking around with the big club a bit longer to help make up for the loss of Paul Blackburn (shoulder), Dedniel Nunez (elbow) and Blade Tidwell. Warren owns a 4.18 ERA and 1.28 WHIP through 32.1 innings in Triple-A but remains unscored upon through 3.1 frames with the Mets this year.

  • Ryan Loutos RP | SEA

Nationals' Ryan Loutos: Sent to Triple-A

The Nationals optioned Loutos to Triple-A Rochester on Thursday.

Loutos allowed eight runs (six earned) over 4.1 innings during his six appearances with the Nationals, although most of that damage came in one disastrous outing versus the Dodgers. He's clearing out to make room on the active roster for Andrew Chafin (hamstring), who was activated from the injured list.

  • Andrew Chafin RP | CIN

Nationals' Andrew Chafin: Back from 15-day IL

The Nationals activated Chafin (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Chafin missed almost three weeks with a right hamstring strain but has been cleared to return after throwing a simulated game earlier this week. The lefty reliever will skip a rehab assignment and go directly back into the Nationals' bullpen.

  • Dedniel Nunez SP | NYM

Mets' Dedniel Nunez: Shelved with sprained elbow

The Mets placed Nunez on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow sprain.

Nunez has done a nice job with the Mets since being recalled from Triple-A in late June, giving up two runs over six innings while striking out eight batters and logging two holds. However, he won't get another chance to pitch until after the All-Star break thanks to an elbow sprain that appeared following his last outing Wednesday. Paul Blackburn (shoulder) will move to the IL with Nunez, creating space for Justin Hagenman and Rico Garcia to join New York.
