Barraclough cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Barraclough was designated for assignment by the Giants on Thursday but will remain with the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 29-year-old has endured a season to forget in the majors with a 6.66 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB over 25.2 innings.

Kennedy (lat) began a rehab assignment Aug. 3 with the Padres' rookie-level Arizona League affiliate but hasn't appeared in any minor-league games since that date.

Kennedy gave up a run on two hits and a walk over his lone inning with the affiliate in what marked his first competitive action since he was diagnosed with a lat strain in spring training. His lack of usage in the subsequent two weeks following the rehab outing suggests he may have experienced a setback, though the Padres haven't confirmed that's the case. Even if Kennedy makes it back on the mound before the end of 2019, his limited action since the spring makes it unlikely he'll be a September callup for San Diego.

Young (4-3) took the loss against the Giants on Thursday, completing five innings and giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out a pair.

Young found himself in hot water early, giving up a pair of first-inning runs while allowing the first four hitters to reach base. He settled down to keep San Francisco off the scoreboard in the following three frames but ran into trouble again in the fifth, allowing three runs on an RBI double by Buster Posey and a two-run homer off the bat of Evan Longoria. Young allowed only 10 earned runs in his first 34.2 innings this season but has now surrendered nine in 8.1 frames over his last two starts, both of which have resulted in losses. The 25-year-old will try to get back on track when he hosts the Rockies on Tuesday in his next scheduled start.

Rodriguez (5-6) picked up the win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday, hurling seven scoreless innings and giving up three hits and one walk while striking out four.

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento earlier in the day and proceeded to pitch his finest game of the season. He did not allow any runners to reach second base and threw 61 of 95 pitches for strikes. The 27-year-old has been shuffled back-and-forth between the majors and Triple-A this season, posting a 4.79 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 46:26 K:BB in 71.1 innings with the Giants. It remains to be seen whether the dominant outing Thursday will earn him another start.

Diaz picked up the save against Atlanta on Thursday, recording one out while allowing no earned runs and no hits to close out a 10-8 win for the Mets. He recorded one strikeout and one walk.

Diaz's role has come into question of late due to his struggles this season, but he bagged his 25th save of the year in this contest with a successfully converted one-out opportunity. It's still probably not enough to fully ease the mind of manager Mickey Callaway just yet, as Diaz is sporting a 5.56 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 45.1 innings for the season.

Iglesias got the save against the Cardinals on Thursday, giving up one earned run on one hit over 1.1 innings before closing out the Reds' 2-1 victory. He struck out one and walked one.

Tasked with protecting a 2-0 lead, it wasn't an entirely clean outing for the right-hander, but he was able to limit the damage to one run and successfully convert his 24th save of the season. Iglesias had made eight straight scoreless appearances coming into the contest, so he's been pitching well of late, although this performance brings his ERA back up 4.01 to go along with a 1.28 WHIP over 51.2 innings.

Strop (2-5) allowed two runs and did not record an out while getting tagged with the loss Thursday against the Phillies.

The Cubs entered the ninth inning up 5-1 but the wheels came off for several relievers in a stunning loss. Rowan Wick started the inning before allowing two hits and a run, at which point Chicago turned to Strop to close things out. The veteran righty was ineffective, however, as he quickly gave up a hit and hit a batter before getting the hook. Derek Holland then allowed a walkoff grand slam to Bryce Harper, saddling Strop and the Cubs with an unexpected 7-5 loss. Strop now has a disappointing 5.46 ERA this season, though he figures to remain in a high-leverage role while Craig Kimbrel (knee) is out.

The Giants are trying to pass Barraclough through waivers less than a week after claiming him from the Nationals. The right-hander has struggled at the big-league level this season, posting a 6.66 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB in 25.2 innings. This move frees up a 40-man spot for Fernando Abad.

Jerez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Jerez made four appearances during his most recent stint with the big club, posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 2:2 K:BB across 3.2 innings. Thursday's starter, Dereck Rodriguez, will take his place on the roster.

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of his scheduled start against the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Rodriguez will rejoin the big-league rotation Thursday after having his start with Sacramento skipped earlier this week. The 27-year-old has struggled through 64.1 major-league innings this season, posting a 5.32 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 42:25 K:BB. Williams Jerez was sent to the minors in a corresponding move.
