Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Passed over for save chance
Iglesias did not pitch Saturday despite Atlanta holding a 2-1 lead in the ninth inning against the Giants.
Iglesias has struggled over the last month, allowing 11 earned runs across 10 innings pitched. After blowing a save and taking a loss Thursday, manager Brian Snitker noted that Iglesias was not necessarily Atlanta's primary closer moving forward, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. He was unavailable to pitch Friday but was then passed over in a save chance Saturday. Pierce Johnson got the save opportunity instead, but he blew the chance by allowing a two-run home run to Matt Chapman.

David Bednar RP | NYY
Pirates' David Bednar: Collects eighth save
Bednar earned the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Phillies, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.
Bednar was brought out for the ninth to protect the Pirates' one-run lead. He needed just seven pitches (five strikes) to get through the frame, four of which came on a Kyle Schwarber strikeout. Bednar has converted on all eight of his save opportunities this season and has a 3.74 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB across 21.2 innings. He appears to have reestablished himself as Pittsburgh's closer, having recorded the club's past four saves.

Anthony Veneziano RP | TEX
Marlins' Anthony Veneziano: Opening Sunday's game against Rays
Veneziano will serve as Miami's opening pitcher for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Veneziano was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday and worked a scoreless inning out of the bullpen in the series opener versus Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old lefty is now slated to get his first MLB start Sunday, but he's likely to work just an inning or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Connor Gillispie, Janson Junk and Valente Bellozo are all candidates to cover multiple frames once Veneziano exits the contest.

Justin Garza RP | NYM
Mets' Justin Garza: Dealt to Mets
Garza was traded from the Giants to the Mets in exchange for cash considerations Saturday.
Garza has spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Sacramento. His 6.11 ERA and 1.51 WHIP don't paint an optimistic outlook, but a 20:6 K:BB across 17.2 innings suggests he's pitched better than his results. Garza should serve as depth in the minor leagues for the Mets.

Cristian Mena SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Cristian Mena: Lands on IL with shoulder injury
The Diamondbacks placed Mena on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a right shoulder strain.
Mena may have strained his right shoulder during Friday's suspended game against the Reds, when he gave up a walk and a solo home run while striking out one batter in one inning. Christian Montes De Oca has been appointed the 27th man for Saturday's contest, but it's unclear whether the Diamondbacks have another move in place to bolster their bullpen in the absence of Mena. Mena will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury and establish an estimated timeline for his return.

Christian Montes De Oca RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Christian Montes De Oca: Serving as 27th man
Montes De Oca will serve as the 27th man for the Diamondbacks in Saturday's game against the Reds.
With Friday's suspended game being finished Saturday, Montes De Oca has been brought in to replenish the Diamondbacks' bullpen, and an appearance in Saturday's game would mark the 25-year-old right-hander's major-league debut. Montes De Oca has 4.07 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, two saves and a 26:6 K:BB across 24.1 innings with Triple-A Reno this season.

Joe La Sorsa RP | PIT
Reds' Joe La Sorsa: Serving as 27th man
The Reds appointed La Sorsa as the 27th man for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.
With Friday's suspended game resuming Saturday, the Reds will replenish their bullpen by adding La Sorsa as their extra player. He has spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Louisville, where he has a 3.92 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 14:14 K:BB across 20.2 innings.

Isaac Mattson RP | PIT
Pirates' Isaac Mattson: Recalled by Pittsburgh
The Pirates recalled Mattson from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.
Mattson has appeared in three games for the Pirates this season, but he has spent most of the year in Triple-A, where he has a 2.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, four saves and a 27:6 K:BB across 22.1 innings. He'll take the spot in the Pirates' bullpen vacated by Joey Wentz, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Connor Thomas RP | MIL
Brewers' Connor Thomas: Suffers setback during rehab
Thomas has been shut down from throwing and is "back to square one" in his recovery from an elbow injury, David Gasper of Athlon Sports reports.
Thomas has been on the IL since early April due to a left elbow injury. Per Gasper, the lefty reliever had loose bodies appear in the affected elbow in late May, and he's now being re-evaluated. It appears Thomas could remain out of action for a significant amount of additional time.

Jose Ruiz RP | TEX
Braves' Jose Ruiz: Remaining in NL East
Atlanta claimed Ruiz off waivers from Philadelphia on Saturday.
Ruiz was designated for assignment by the Phillies last weekend and will now join his fourth MLB organization over the past three seasons. The veteran reliever struggled during his time with Philadelphia this season, posting an 8.16 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB over 14.1 frames. Ruiz will likely take on a low-leverage role in Atlanta's bullpen while he tries to get better results with his new club.
