  • Yosver Zulueta SP | SEA

Reds' Yosver Zulueta: Heads back to Triple-A

The Reds returned Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Zulueta was sent back to Louisville one day after serving as the Reds' 27th man for a doubleheader with the Brewers. The right-handed reliever appeared in the Reds' 14-0 loss in the second game of the twin bill, punching out three batters in 1.1 innings but giving up four earned runs on four hits and one walk.

  • Alex Young RP | CIN

Mets' Alex Young: Moves up to big leagues

The Mets recalled Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

The 30-year-old lefty has previously made 10 appearances in the big leagues this season between the Mets and Reds, logging a 1.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. He's expected to work mostly in the middle innings during his upcoming stint in the New York bullpen.

  • Dodgers' Michael Grove: Returns to big leagues

The Dodgers recalled Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Sunday's 14-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. He was used out of the bullpen in the loss, covering 1.2 innings and striking out a batter while allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits.

Grove was summoned from the bullpen in the sixth inning while the Diamondbacks were already sitting on a 10-3 lead with one out and a runner on first. Though he induced an inning-ending double play and went on to complete the seventh inning, Grove's usage in a blowout indicates that the Dodgers don't envision him filling a high-leverage role out of the bullpen down the stretch.

  • Noah Davis SP | PIT

Rockies' Noah Davis: Pushed off 40-man roster

The Rockies outrighted Davis off the 40-man roster Sunday.

The Rockies optioned Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, and though the team never made a formal announcement that he was designated for assignment, he must have been exposed to waivers at some point prior to Sunday. After going unclaimed, Davis will stick around in the organization as a member of the pitching staff at Albuquerque, where he'll most likely serve as a swingman. Davis had pitched out of the bullpen for Colorado prior to his recent demotion, logging a 5.75 ERA and 1.87 WHIP in 20.1 innings.

  • Evan Justice RP | COL

Rockies' Evan Justice: Promoted to majors

The Rockies recalled Justice from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Orioles. He faced two batters in relief, striking out one and walking the other.

Justice's brief relief appearance was his first in the big leagues in 2024, as he had been added to the 40-man roster last August but hadn't received a call-up from Triple-A this season after being optioned to the minors coming out of spring training. The lefty reliever submitted a 9.90 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and 21:29 K:BB in 20 innings at Albuquerque this season, but he had given up just one earned run in his last seven outings prior to getting called up.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Picks up save Sunday

Diaz earned the save in Sunday's 2-0 win over the White Sox, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Diaz picked up his second save in his last three appearances. In those outings, he's racked up seven strikeouts while not allowing a run. Diaz also has at least one strikeout in 18 of his last 19 appearances. For the year, he's compiled 16 saves to compliment a 3.98 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 61:15 K:BB in 40.2 innings.

  • Nationals' Orlando Ribalta: Optioned to Triple-A

The Nationals optioned Ribalta to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.

Four days after being recalled from Triple-A, Ribalta will now head back to the minors after giving up two earned runs on four hits and a walk over one-third of an inning during Sunday's loss to the Cubs. While the 26-year-old has yet to find his footing in the big leagues, he's been effective at Rochester with a 3.64 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 29.2 frames.

  • Tristan Beck RP | SF

Giants' Tristan Beck: Makes return from 60-day IL

The Giants reinstated Beck (arm) from the 60-day injured list Sunday.

Beck will join the big club for the first time all season after completing his recovery from surgery to address an upper right arm aneurysm, which cropped up during spring training. The right-hander got stretched out to 56 pitches and three innings over his five minor-league rehab outings, so he be an option for the rotation if the Giants elect to expand to six men at some point in September. For the time being, however, Beck will likely serve as a multi-inning reliever.

  • Marlins' Darren McCaughan: Called up, will start Sunday

The Marlins recalled McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. He'll start in the Marlins' series finale in San Francisco against the Giants.

McCaughan will take over the rotation spot that previously belonged to Roddery Munoz, who was optioned to Jacksonville on Wednesday. The 28-year-old right-hander has previously made five appearances at the big-league level this season between Cleveland and Miami, logging an 8.62 ERA and 2.11 WHIP over 15.2 innings. He performed much better over his 11 starts with Jacksonville (4.53 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 59:18 K:BB in 53.2 innings), but McCaughan doesn't make for a reliable streaming option in the majority of fantasy leagues.

  • Tom Cosgrove RP | HOU

Padres' Tom Cosgrove: Moves up from Triple-A

The Padres recalled Cosgrove from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Cosgrove will likely operate as a low-leverage reliever for the Padres as he returns to the big leagues for the third time this season. Over his previous two stints with the big club, Cosgrove gave up 19 earned runs on 23 hits and six walks over 14.2 innings.
