Randy Vasquez RP | SD
Padres' Randy Vasquez: Pitches well again in no-decision
Vasquez (1-0) didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Red Sox, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts across six innings.
Vasquez's day was done with a 2-1 lead, but Adrian Morejon allowed a couple hits and a run in the eighth inning to cost Vasquez another win. The 27-year-old's fastball velocity was back down to his 2025 levels of 93.6 mph after throwing it around 95 mph in last Saturday's win over Detroit. It will be interesting to see if Vasquez is able to get the velocity back up in next week's start against the Rockies. The right-hander will carry a 0.75 ERA and 11:4 K:BB across 12 innings into his next outing.

Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL
Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Suffers setback
The Brewers returned Zastryzny (shoulder) from his rehab assignment Saturday after he suffered a setback in his recovery, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
It's unclear whether Zastryzny's setback is related to his strained left shoulder or some other issue, but it will extend his stay on the injured list all the same. He's slated to undergo further testing in Milwaukee within the next few days, at which point more details regarding his new return timeline should emerge.

Shota Imanaga RP | CHC
Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Cubs-Guardians postponed
Imanaga won't start as scheduled Saturday against the Guardians, as the game was postponed due to rain, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
The two teams will play a doubleheader Sunday to make up Saturday's game, and Imanaga will take the mound during the nightcap, per Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network. The 32-year-old southpaw will be looking to bounce back from a poor showing in his season debut, during which he allowed four earned runs on six hits and two walks over five innings.

Rockies' Sammy Peralta: Claimed by Colorado
The Rockies claimed Peralta off waivers from the Brewers on Saturday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Peralta lost his spot on Milwaukee's 40-man roster when the Brewers acquired outfielder Luis Matos earlier in the week, but the former will now claim a 40-man spot in Colorado's organization. Peralta owns a 5.12 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 45.2 innings in his big-league career, and he began the season at Triple-A Nashville and allowed three earned runs over one inning across two appearances. The Rockies will option him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Brennan Bernardino RP | COL
Rockies' Brennan Bernardino: Opening Saturday
Bernardino will serve as the Rockies' opening pitcher Saturday against the Phillies.
The Phillies typically use lefty sluggers Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper atop their lineup, so the Rockies will counter by sending the left-handed Bernardino to the mound for the first inning. The 34-year-old has fired three scoreless innings to begin the season, giving up two hits, no walks and striking out one batter in the process. Chase Dollander is expected to pitch in bulk relief once Bernardino exits the game.

Erik Miller RP | SF
Giants' Erik Miller: Allows two runs Friday
Miller allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one across two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Mets.
Miller had allowed just one hit and one walk in his first 1.2 innings of the season, but he struggled Friday. The left-hander entered in the ninth inning and issued a walk to the first batter he faced before surrendering an RBI double. He then gave up a single and another run before exiting. Over three outings, Miller has recorded a 7.71 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 2:2 K:BB across 2.1 innings.

Brooks Raley RP | NYM
Mets' Brooks Raley: Picks up second hold
Raley struck out one in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning of relief to record his second hold of the season in Friday's win over the Giants.
The southpaw took over for Nolan McLean with one out in the sixth inning and runners on second and third, and Raley struck out Rafael Devers before getting Luis Arraez to ground out. Raley's had a strong start to the season as the top left-hander in the Mets' bullpen, posting a 0.00 ERA and 5:0 K:BB over 3.2 innings.

Luke Jackson RP | SEA
Mets' Luke Jackson: Finds work with Mets
Jackson signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Jackson finished the 2025 season with a 4.06 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 51 total innings, but he began to find consistent success toward the end of the year, posting a 2.38 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 11.1 frames with the Mariners. Although he won't be granted a spot on the big-league roster immediately upon signing with the Mets, he could potentially earn a spot in Queens if he continues to find success at Triple-A Syracuse.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Cubs' Hunter Harvey: Takes first loss Friday
Harvey (0-1) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk while retiring just two batters in relief to take the loss Friday against the Guardians.
Both of the hits Harvey allowed left the yard, as he served up a solo home run to Gabriel Arias and a two-run shot to Chase DeLauter in the seventh inning in an eventual 4-1 defeat for the Cubs. The righty reliever had tossed 2.1 scoreless frames across his first two appearances with his new team, but Friday was a step backward. Harvey should be able to rebound, and he's still positioned as a key setup arm in Chicago ahead of closer Daniel Palencia.

Paul Sewald RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Paul Sewald: Takes loss Friday
Sewald (0-1) was tagged with the loss Friday, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning in a 2-0 loss to Atlanta.
Sewald entered a scoreless game in the top of the ninth inning and ceded back-to-back home runs. It was the first hiccup in four outings for Sewald, who had not allowed a baserunner in his first three appearances.
