Orioles' Danny Coulombe: Back from 60-day IL

The Orioles activated Coulombe (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Coulombe had surgery in mid-June to remove bone chips from his pitching elbow, but he's made it back in time to get in a few appearances down the stretch of the regular season. The lefty was dynamite earlier this season before getting hurt, posting a 2.42 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 28:3 K:BB over 26 innings.

  • Tyler Holton RP | DET

Tigers' Tyler Holton: Making start Friday

Holton will start Friday's game against the Orioles.

Holton will make his eighth start of the season Friday for Detroit as he continues to serve as an occasional opener. The left-hander has worked his way into the closing mix with eight saves this season, but Jason Foley should get the save chance if Detroit has a lead in the ninth inning Friday. Holton has a 2.12 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 89 innings this year.

  • Kevin Herget RP | NYM

Brewers' Kevin Herget: Rejoins Milwaukee bullpen

The Brewers recalled Herget from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Herget has pitched well during his brief time with the big club this season, allowing two runs with a 7:3 K:BB over 8.2 innings. He will be used in low-leverage situations.

Brewers' Enoli Paredes: Booted from 40-man roster

The Brewers designated Paredes for assignment Friday.

Paredes has posted a 1.74 ERA this season out of the Brewers' bullpen, but that's come with a 14:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings. The 28-year-old could draw some interest via trade or waivers.

  • Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Optioned to Triple-A

The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Garabito has allowed eight runs over seven innings out of the Rangers' bullpen this month. His roster spot is being filled by Dane Dunning.

Giants' Austin Warren: Recalled from Triple-A

The Giants recalled Warren from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

  • George Soriano RP | STL

Marlins' George Soriano: Returns to minors

The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

  • Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Designated for assignment

The Yankees designated Marinaccio for assignment Friday.

Marinaccio has collected a 3.86 ERA and 25:10 K:BB over 23.1 innings during his time with the Yankees this season. A career 12.6 percent walk rate is scary, but the 29-year-old also has a career 28.3 percent strikeout rate and is under team control for multiple seasons. He figures to draw interest via trade or waivers.

  • Trey Wingenter RP | CHC

Cubs' Trey Wingenter: Back in majors

The Cubs recalled Wingenter from Triple-A Iowa on Friday.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A on Tuesday but will now take the roster spot of Jordan Wicks, who was placed on the injured list due to an oblique strain. Wingenter has appeared in just five big-league games between the Red Sox and Cubs this season and has given up nine earned runs with a 4:3 K:BB over 6.1 innings.

    Reds' Alan Busenitz: Rejoins bullpen

The Reds selected Busenitz's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

He'll give the Reds a fresh relief arm after the bullpen needed to cover five innings Thursday against Atlanta. Busenitz gave up four runs (three earned) in one inning of work in his lone appearance with the big club in 2024.
