Jose Suarez RP | ATH
Angels' Jose Suarez: Getting start Thursday
Suarez is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
As expected, Suarez will be moving from the bullpen to take over the rotation spot that opened up after the Angels demoted Caden Dana to Double-A Rocket City and placed Samuel Aldegheri (finger) on the injured list. Suarez has made just one other start with the Angels this season, which came back on June 11 versus the Diamondbacks. He failed to escape the third inning in that outing and was charged with four earned runs on six hits and one walk.

Jacob Latz RP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob Latz: Activated, optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers reinstated Latz (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
Forearm tightness has kept Latz on the shelf since early August. He gave up five earned runs over one-third of an inning during his first rehab outing Aug. 18, but he's since allowed just two runs across 7.2 frames in the minors. The Rangers will keep him at Triple-A for now, though there's still a chance he rejoins the big squad to help out Texas' bullpen over the final few weeks of the season.

Luis Frias RP | CLE
Blue Jays' Luis Frias: Sent back to minors
The Blue Jays optioned Frias to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Since coming up from Triple-A on Sept. 6, Frias has allowed eight earned runs on eight hits and three walks in only 3.1 innings. He'll head back to the minors in order to get back on track, and the Jays will bring up Dillon Tate to fill the open spot in their bullpen.

Dillon Tate RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Dillon Tate: Recalled from Buffalo
The Blue Jays recalled Tate from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Tate posted a 4.59 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 33.1 innings with the Orioles before being DFA'd by the club in August. However, he's given up just one run over five innings since joining the Jays organization Sept. 1, and he'll now return to the majors to give Toronto's bullpen a fresh arm. Luis Frias was optioned to Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Zach Logue RP | LAD
Dodgers' Zach Logue: Selected to active roster
The Dodgers selected Logue's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Six days after signing a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, Logue will be called upon to help add depth to Los Angeles' bullpen while Michael Grove and Bobby Miller head back to the minors. The 28-year-old Logue has yet to appear in an MLB game this season, though he owns a 2.69 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 93.2 frames in Triple-A.

Michael Grove SP | TB
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Sent back to minors
The Dodgers optioned Grove to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Grove allowed three runs over a 1.2-inning relief outing Tuesday in Miami. He's expected to be replaced by a fresh bullpen arm, although the Dodgers have not yet announced the corresponding move.
-
Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Activated from injured list
The Dodgers activated Kelly (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Kelly has been out since late August with right shoulder inflammation but is ready to go after making a couple rehab appearances. He's likely to be used in low-leverage situations.

Yennier Cano RP | BAL
Orioles' Yennier Cano: Moves past forearm tightness
Cano said Wednesday that he had been dealing with right forearm tightness but is now available to pitch, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Cano hasn't pitched in a week, but the reliever said he would have been available out of the bullpen for Tuesday's 10-0 loss to the Giants, had he been needed. The setup man has collected a 2.78 ERA and 59:21 K:BB across 55 relief innings for the Orioles in 2024.

Jeff Lindgren RP | MIA
Marlins' Jeff Lindgren: Pushed off 40-man roster
The Marlins designated Lindgren for assignment Wednesday.
Lindgren's stint on the Marlins' 40-man and 28-man rosters lasted just under a week, with the 28-year-old ultimately being deemed expendable with Miami needing to clear room for Ryan Weathers (finger), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his start Wednesday versus the Dodgers. The right-handed Lindgren went unused out of the Miami bullpen and will likely head back to Triple-A Jacksonville if he goes unclaimed off waivers.
