The Diamondbacks placed Martinez on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder inflammation.

Martinez's velocity and results have trended in the wrong direction lately, so the Diamondbacks are opting to shut him down for the time being. He is scheduled to undergo imaging to see if there is anything more serious beyond inflammation in his pitching shoulder. With A.J. Puk (elbow) also on the shelf, the Diamondbacks could mix and match at closer. Ryan Thompson, Shelby Miller and Kevin Ginkel are among the options to see save chances.

The Rangers recalled Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Boushley had been optioned to Round Rock on Monday, but he's eligible to rejoin the Rangers just three days later after the team placed catcher Kyle Higashioka (intercostal) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. The Rangers are likely to deploy Boushley in long relief after the right-hander allowed five runs on six hits and two walks over 7.2 innings across his prior three appearances with the big club this season.

Detmers (0-1) gave up five runs on five hits without recording an out in relief to take the loss Wednesday against the Mariners.

Detmers entered in the seventh inning with the scored tied 2-2. The lefty was initially unlucky as the first two batters he faced reach on an infield single and a bunt single, respectively, but Detmers then gave up three more consecutive knocks -- including a Julio Rodriguez double -- and was pulled having failed to record an out. In total, five runs were charged to Detmers' line, pushing his season ERA all the way up to 5.79. The first-round pick of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft is transitioning to a relief role this season and had been pitching well prior to getting blown up Wednesday, as he entered the contest against Seattle with a 2.57 ERA and 14:5 K:BB over 14 innings.

The Mets transferred Minter (lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

Minter was initially placed on the IL on Sunday after being diagnosed with a left lat strain. The southpaw is still weighing whether to undergo season-ending surgery, but even if he elects to treat the injury through rest and rehab, he won't be on track to return to game action until September in a best-case scenario, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Before getting hurt, Minter had been performing well as the top setup man in front of closer Edwin Diaz, logging a 1.64 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB in 11 innings while collecting seven holds over his 13 appearances.

The Reds optioned Richardson to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Richardson was needed for three innings in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals, so he's being sent out in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Yosver Zulueta was called up from Triple-A to take over Richardson's spot in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster.

The Mets transferred Montas (lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The transaction won't affect Montas' timeline for a return, as the 32-year-old isn't expected to be ready to make his Mets debut until at least June while he recovers from the high-grade right lat strain that he sustained early in spring training. Per MLB.com, Montas has been throwing off flat ground since early April and should soon be ready for mound work, but he'll require an extended period of time to build up his pitch count and will need to make multiple rehab starts in the minors before being activated from the IL.

The Royals transferred McArthur (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Taylor Clarke, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday. McArthur is recovering from surgery to address an olecranon fracture in his right elbow and has not yet started a throwing program.

Stanek (0-3) blew the save and took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, giving up two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Entering the game with one out in the seventh inning to protect a 1-0 lead, Stanek gave up three straight hits to put Arizona ahead for good. The right-hander has fallen apart at the end of April, giving up at least one run in four of his last five appearances and taking both the loss and a blown save in three straight trips to the mound. The collapse has left Stanek with a 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB through 10.2 innings on the season, and even with A.J. Minter (lat) on the shelf, the former may be removed from high-leverage duties until he turns things around.

The Royals selected Clarke's contract from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Clarke last pitched in the majors in 2023 with the Royals, posting a 5.95 ERA and 65:24 K:BB over 59 frames that season. The 31-year-old allowed nine runs (seven earned) with a 9:5 K:BB across 14.1 innings this season with Omaha.

Hoffman (3-0) struck out three over two perfect innings of relief Wednesday to pick up the win in an extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

After shutting down Boston in the ninth inning, Hoffman stayed on the mound for the 10th and was rewarded when the Blue Jays walked it off in the bottom of the frame. The 32-year-old right-hander has been needed more than one inning in three of his last seven appearances, racking up three wins and three saves during that span with a 0.90 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB over 10 innings. Hoffman hadn't worked since Sunday, so he was well rested, but after tossing 27 pitches Wednesday he likely won't be available should a save situation arise Thursday in the series finale against the Red Sox.
