Junis didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Cardinals, allowing one run on three hits over five innings. He struck out three.

Masyn Winn's home run in the third inning was the lone mark on Junis' line Thursday. The right-hander's been excellent in his last two starts with Cincinnati, allowing just one run on four hits over 10 innings, though he's ultimately come away with no-decisions in both outings. Overall, Junis is 4-0 on the season with a 2.73 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 42:7 K:BB across 56 innings between the Reds and Brewers. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with Atlanta next week.

Romero earned the save in Thursday's 6-1 win over Cincinnati, allowing two hits over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Romero recorded the final out in the eighth inning, preserving a 3-1 Cardinals lead, before St. Louis added a couple of insurance runs in the bottom half of the frame. Romero would come back out in the ninth, sealing the win to earn his first save this season. While the left-hander won't overtake Ryan Helsley for the closing job, he's been reliable in a setup role this season and has held opponents to just one run in his last six appearances (five innings). Romero now sports a 2.65 ERA through 57.2 innings this year with a 1.08 WHIP and 51:14 K:BB.

Kinley earned the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Detroit, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Kinley found himself in some trouble, allowing a pair of Tigers to reach base before ultimately striking out Zach McKinstry to strand the tying runs aboard. The 33-year-old Kinley took over the closer role in Colorado when Victor Vodnik landed on the IL in late August and has now converted six straight save chances. It appears that Kinley may have earned a more permanent grasp on the ninth-inning job as Vodnik, who was activated earlier in the week, was used in the seventh inning Thursday.

Hendriks (elbow) will likely be shut down from throwing for the remainder of the season, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

An MRI on Hendriks' elbow came back negative after he suffered a minor setback in his recovery last week, but it appears the 35-year-old reliever will not pitch in the majors this season. He threw five scoreless innings across six appearances between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester during his rehab assignment and will now presumably shift his focus to getting ready for the start of the 2025 campaign.

The Marlins placed McMillon on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow tightness.

McMillon threw just two pitches and gave up a single before his injury forced him out of Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh, and he will now be forced to sit out until at least Sept. 27. The 26-year-old righty owns a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 12 innings in the majors this season, but given the fact Miami has already been eliminated from the postseason, the Marlins likely won't be in any rush to bring him back.

The Marlins designated Bermudez for assignment Thursday.

In two appearances since being selected from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Bermudez allowed four earned runs across three innings while striking out one batter and walking two. He'll now give up his spot on the 40-man roster for Jeff Lindgren, who was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move, and Bermudez will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

The Blue Jays designated Rodriguez (undisclosed) for assignment Thursday.

Rodriguez has been held out of action at Triple-A Buffalo since August due to an unspecified injury, and it remains unknown when he'll be cleared to return to games. While he waits to return, his spot on Toronto's 40-man roster will be given to Brett de Geus, who was claimed off waivers from Miami on Thursday.

The Blue Jays claimed de Geus off waivers from the Marlins on Thursday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old holds a 5.00 ERA and 6:2 K:BB over nine innings covering 11 appearances this season at the major-league level. De Geus will be assigned to Triple-A Buffalo for now.

The Guardians selected Walters' contract from Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

A second-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Walters has dominated between Double-A Akron and Columbus this season, collecting a 2.32 ERA and 79:25 K:BB over 50.1 innings. The 23-year-old should pitch high-leverage situations eventually for the Guardians but given the weapons they already have in their bullpen, he might just be a middle reliever initially.

Walters has a 2.97 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 41 strikeouts and six saves in 30.1 innings across 33 appearances for Triple-A Columbus.

A pure reliever who received almost $1 million after the Guardians selected him with the No. 62 overall pick last year, Walters was assigned to Double-A to begin his pro career and dominated to the tune of a 1.35 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, two saves and 38 strikeouts in 20 innings. His strikeout rate dipped from 46.3 percent to 31.8 percent and his walk rate spiked from 9.8 percent to 13.2 percent after the bump to Triple-A, but Walters is still one of the best relief pitching prospects in the game. He should figure prominently into Cleveland's setup mix as the 2025 season unfolds.
