The Red Sox placed Booser on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with left elbow inflammation, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Booser failed to retire any of the three batters he faced in Tuesday's win over the Rangers, but it appears his elbow might have been bothering him in the outing. It's not clear at this point how much time he might miss. Brennan Bernardino was called up from Triple-A Worcester to replace Booser in the bullpen.

The Red Sox recalled Bernardino from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Bernardino was just sent down to the minors over the weekend but is back to absorb the roster spot of Cam Booser (elbow), who was placed on the injured list. The 32-year-old has pitched well for most of the season for the Red Sox but had struggled of late before being optioned with a 12.54 ERA over his last 12 appearances.

Atlanta designated Dunshee for assignment Wednesday.

The club needed to free up a spot on its 40-man roster for the return of Michael Harris (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list, and Dunshee ended up being the casualty. Dunshee made his major-league debut last week, allowing five runs in a 2.1-inning relief appearance against the Brewers.

Megill (back) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Thursday.

Megill has been sidelined for all of August with a lower-back injury but has been cleared for game action. The reliever leads the Brewers with 20 saves on the season, but he'll be used in a setup role upon his return from the 15-day injured list with Devin Williams now in the fold for Milwaukee.

Rosenberg allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out four batters over five innings in long relief against Toronto on Tuesday.

Angels starter Carson Fulmer was able to go just three innings, giving up five runs while tossing 75 pitches. Rosenberg -- who was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake earlier in the day -- stepped in and logged what was essentially a starter's workload with 78 pitches of his own, and he was much more effective than Fulmer in yielding just one run across five frames. Due to the large workload, Rosenberg will presumably now be unavailable for several days, so he could move back to the minors in short order to allow Los Angeles to bring up a fresh arm.

Hamilton (lat) is scheduled to toss a live bullpen session this week, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Hamilton has recently been upping the intensity of his bullpen sessions, and because he's cleared that hurdle without any setbacks, he's now ready to face live hitters. The right-hander could subsequently move on to a minor-league rehab assignment and may be back in the big-league bullpen by the end of the month. Hamilton had been struggling prior to landing on the injured list, allowing eight runs (seven earned) over four innings spanning his previous four appearances.

Rodriguez (3-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit over one inning to take the extra-inning loss Tuesday versus Atlanta. He did not issue a walk or strike out a batter.

Rodriguez gave up an RBI single to Travis d'Arnaud, which plated the initial runner in the 10th inning, and the Giants failed to respond for their second extra-inning loss in a row. While this run wasn't earned, Rodriguez has allowed six runs (five earned) over his last 9.2 innings despite sparse usage since the All-Star break. He's at a 3.93 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 52:16 K:BB through 50.1 innings while adding five holds and a blown save in a low-leverage role this season.

The Angels released Garrett on Tuesday.

Anaheim parted ways with two veteran lefty relievers on Triple-A Salt Lake's roster, as Garrett was cut loose along with Adam Kolarek. Garrett previously made six appearances out of the big-league bullpen earlier this season before being moved off the 40-man roster in May and electing free agency. He re-signed with the Angels on a minor-league deal shortly thereafter and pitched exclusively at Salt Lake, logging a 4.78 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 33 strikeouts across 26.1 innings.

Jansen struck out one in 1.1 perfect innings of relief Tuesday to record his 22nd save of the season in a 9-4 win over the Rangers.

The veteran closer got the final out in the top of the eighth inning to protect a 6-4 lead, and his job then got a lot easier when Boston tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the frame. Jansen blew two of his first three save chances coming out of the All-Star break but appears to have worked through the rough patch, delivering four straight scoreless appearances with a 6:1 K:BB.

Urena (3-8) took the loss Tuesday as the Rangers were downed 9-4 by the Red Sox, coughing up six runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

The 32-year-old right-hander held Boston to one run through the first four innings but fell apart in the fifth, getting chased from the game after serving up a three-run homer to Connor Wong. Urena's return to the rotation in August has been a disaster, and he's been saddled with a 10.66 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB through 12.2 innings over three starts. With Max Scherzer (shoulder), Jon Gray (groin) and Jacob deGrom (elbow) all lacking clear timelines to rejoin the rotation, the Rangers might be stuck with Urena in the role, although Dane Dunning could be stretched out enough to be an option.
