Treinen (hip) has continued to play catch and will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list when first eligible, per MLB.com.

Treinen went on the 15-day IL on Aug. 5, so the earliest he can be activated is Aug. 20. It appears likely that he will indeed return to the Dodgers' bullpen on that day, as his hip issue is not expected to be serious. Upon being activated, Treinen should slot back into a high-leverage role after posting a 2.67 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB over 30.1 innings while recording five wins, a save and nine holds.

Fulmer (0-3) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

Fulmer has now failed to make it through five innings in four of his six starts, and this was his shortest outing since he moved into the rotation. He was done in by a shaky first inning and then solo home runs by Vladimir Guerrero and Spencer Horwitz in the third. Fulmer has a 4.22 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67:32 K:BB through 70.1 innings over 30 appearances this season. He's projected for a road start versus the Royals early next week.

An MRI on Topa's right elbow showed inflammation, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Topa had his minor league rehab assignment shut down Saturday after experiencing tightness in his right arm. The right-hander has been on assignment since July 23 as part of his recovery from a tear in the patellar tendon of his left knee. He's yet to make his 2024 major league debut. Topa says he shouldn't be out too long, but it's not clear he'll even be able to return this season.

Avila (4-1) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two over two-thirds of an inning, earning the win Tuesday over the Cubs.

Avila got the last two outs in the top of the sixth inning before the Guardians took the lead in their half of the frame. The right-hander's tenure in Cleveland started off rough, but he's been steady with just two runs allowed and a 17:6 K:BB over 14.2 innings since the All-Star break. Overall, he has a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 67:29 K:BB through 63.2 innings between the Guardians and the Padres this season.

Cousins walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Cousins inherited runners on the corners from Tommy Kahnle. A one-out walk loaded the bases, but Cousins was able to escape the jam unscathed to earn his first career save. The Yankees' bullpen has been leaned on heavily in recent games, with Clay Holmes and Enyel De Los Santos among the high-leverage options that were likely unavailable Tuesday. As such, don't expect Cousins to see many more save chances, though he could be due for more late-inning work since he has a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB over 24 innings this season.

Hader earned the save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Rays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Hader's now delivered seven straight scoreless appearances (6.1 innings) while improving to 26-for-27 in save chances this year. The left-hander's lowered his ERA to 3.61 with a 0.97 WHIP and 79:18 K:BB across 52.1 innings on the campaign.

Wentz tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the save in Tuesday's 15-1 win over the Mariners. He walked one and struck out three.

It was about the easiest first career MLB save imaginable for Wentz, as he entered the game with that 15-1 lead already established. The lefty came into the night with a 6.57 ERA and 2.11 WHIP since the start of July, so it was refreshing to see him pitch well, even in the low-leverage spot. Wentz has limited fantasy value moving forward, however, given his middle-relief role and lack of consistency.

Clase earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Cubs, working around one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

Clase now has four saves in four consecutive days. The right-hander's converted his last 24 save chances, allowing just three earned runs over 33 innings in that span. Overall, Clase's up to a league-leading 37 saves with a pristine 0.64 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 49:7 K:BB across 56.1 frames. He figures to almost certainly have the day off Wednesday, should a fifth straight save opportunity arise.

Smyly (3-6) allowed a solo home run across 1.1 innings of relief to take the loss Tuesday against the Guardians. He struck out one.

A blast by Jhonkensy Noel in the fifth inning was the only damage against Smyly, but it saddled him with the loss in Cleveland's 2-1 victory. Despite the 3-6 record, Smyly has been solid this season with a 2.83 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 47.2 innings. All of that work has come out of the bullpen, which is a contrast from last year, when the veteran lefty made 23 starts for the Cubs.

Pagan will serve as the Reds' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Pagan owns a 4.22 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through 21.1 innings on the season, though he threw a scoreless inning against the Brewers on Sunday in his first appearance since returning from the 60-day injured list. He's only made one appearance that lasted longer than one inning in 2024, so he'll likely only be asked to get through the Cardinals' first three batters before turning the game over to Carson Spiers, who is expected to pitch in bulk relief.
