Yarbrough is expected to serve as the bulk reliever Tuesday against the Giants, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The Dodgers will elect to give the starting rotation an extra day off early in the season, and Yarbrough will be relied on to eat up innings as part of a bullpen game. The club has yet to announce who will open the contest. Yarbrough is off to a strong start to the 2024 campaign, surrendering one unearned run over 4.2 frames while fanning two and walking two.

Crismatt was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Monday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Crismatt earned the win after two scoreless relief innings in Sunday's victory over the Cardinals and his reward is being jettisoned from the 40-man roster. Dinelson Lamet will replace him in the bullpen.

Swanson (forearm) threw another bullpen session Monday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Swanson opened the season on the 15-day injured list due to forearm tightness. He threw off the mound Saturday, and Blue Jays manager John Schneider noted that Monday's follow-up session went well. Swanson appears to be trending towards a minimum stay on the injured list.

Bazardo (shoulder) has begun throwing bullpen sessions, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Bazardo has been dealing with a right rotator cuff strain since the beginning of spring training but is finally showing some progress. He will need to throw handful of bullpen sessions and face hitters before being cleared for a rehab assignment.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Romano (elbow) is set to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Romano started the season on the 15-day IL due to right elbow inflammation he sustained in spring training. His bullpen session Tuesday will be the first time he's thrown off the mound since his injury, and the team is optimistic that the right-hander will need only a minimum stay on the injured list.

Santos (lat) played catch Monday after an MRI showed improvement, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Santos first felt tightness in his right lat at the beginning of spring training and has had trouble getting over the hump. It's certainly a good sign that he's throwing again, but the reliever has a long ways to go before a timeline to return is established.

Brash (elbow) threw sliders in a bullpen session Monday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

He also upped the intensity of his throwing, per Mariners general manager Justin Hollander. While there remains no timetable for Brash's return, he is coming along nicely as he works his way back from right elbow inflammation. He shouldn't be too far off from a rehab assignment.

Astros manager Joe Espada announced that Abreu will not be available for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

After serving a two-game suspension to start the season, Abreu pitched Saturday and Sunday against the Yankees. He was roughed up in his 2024 debut Saturday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks in one inning. With Josh Hader also unavailable Monday, the Astros will look to Ryan Pressly, Rafael Montero and Seth Martinez as their main options out of the bullpen.

Astros manager Joe Espada said that Hader is unavailable for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Hader pitched in three of the four games against the Yankees in the Astros' opening series. He took the loss in the third contest after giving up one run on two hits while striking out two in one inning. With Bryan Abreu also unavailable Monday, the Astros will likely turn to Ryan Pressly to fill in as the closer if necessary.

Hernandez (shoulder) threw a bullpen session over the weekend and is scheduled for another Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez landed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a right shoulder impingement that kept him out of spring training. If Wednesday's session goes well, the right-hander could be cleared to start facing hitters next week, and then head out on a minor-league rehab assignment soon thereafter. Hernandez posted a 5.27 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 77:31 K:BB over 70 innings with the Royals last season.
