Phillips allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over one inning, earning the save in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Phillips was tasked with protecting a three-run lead but nearly made a mess of it before getting Corbin Carroll to ground into a game-ending double-play. This was just the fourth time Phillips has allowed multiple runs this season, though he's also been scored on in each of his last two outings. He's now at a 2.72 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB with 15 saves and six holds through 43 innings overall.

Munoz allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Padres.

Munoz has a save in all four of his appearances in August, striking out eight and walking two while allowing one run over four innings this month. The right-hander is up to six saves to go with 12 holds through 30 appearances this season. He's maintained a 2.83 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 42:13 K:BB through 28.2 innings. Based on usage since Paul Sewald was traded to Arizona, it appears Munoz has the upper hand on Matt Brash -- who earned a hold with a scoreless eighth inning Tuesday -- for save chances.

Martinez allowed four hits and a walk while striking out one over three scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Tuesday.

Martinez started for the sixth time this season, including the second time within a week. He's pitched eight scoreless innings over three appearances in August, though Tuesday's outing was a bit less steady than his previous two. The right-hander is at a 3.55 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 75:28 K:BB through 83.2 innings this season. He's also picked up a save, 14 holds and a 5-4 record while primarily serving as a reliever.

Pruitt will serve as Oakland's opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Pruitt has already made five starts for Oakland this season, though none of his outings have lasted longer than three frames. The 33-year-old righty has pitched to a respectable 3.35 ERA and 1.16 WHIP through 43 innings this season. He'll likely work an inning or two before giving way to Freddy Tarnok.

Leone picked up the save Tuesday against the Giants. He allowed one run on one hit while striking out one over two innings.

Leone was picked up by the Halos at the beginning of August via trade and converted on his first save opportunity of the season. While he's expected to remain a middle reliever moving forward, Leone owns a 1.80 ERA and a 19:6 K:BB over his last 15 appearances (15 innings), and he could be a name to monitor for high-leverage work if Carlos Estevez's struggles persist.

Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Walker will be making his eighth start of the season Wednesday. While he hasn't pitched more than three innings in any of his appearances in 2023, Walker has been effective with a 2.52 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:11 K:BB through 39.1 frames. Based on their recent usage, Tristan Beck and Sean Manaea represent the likeliest candidates to cover multiple innings behind Walker on Wednesday.

Clase picked up the save in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Blue Jays. He allowed two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Clase worked around a pair of infield singles, inducing an Alejandro Kirk flyout to end the threat and earn the save. After blowing a save Sunday and serving a one-game suspension Monday for his role in a brawl with the White Sox, the 25-year-old flamethrower returned to notch his 30th save, a milestone Clase has now reached in back-to-back seasons.

Alexander (6-2) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits while failing to record an out in a 7-5 loss to the Angels.

Alexander was thoroughly ineffective while serving as the Giants' opener Tuesday, surrendering a double and a pair of singles to his first three batters before quickly being replaced by Jakob Junis. Alexander has failed to complete a full inning in three straight appearances, a stretch in which he's allowed four runs on six hits without logging a single strikeout.

Robertson picked up the save Tuesday against Cincinnati. He allowed one walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Robertson looked sharp while picking up his second save with Miami. It was a solid bounce-back performance after the veteran right-hander allowed four runs over his previous two outings (two innings). Overall, Robertson is 16-for-20 in save opportunities with a 2.63 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 53:15 K:BB across 48 innings this season between the Marlins and the Mets.

Fairbanks picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Cardinals. He allowed a run on one hit while logging a strikeout over an inning.

Fairbanks' five-game (4.1 innings) scoreless streak ended when he surrendered a solo homer to Willson Contreras. However, the 29-year-old Fairbanks rebounded to close out the Rays' victory and earn his 11th straight save. Overall, Fairbanks is 15-for-16 in save chances this season with a 2.00 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 32:11 K:BB across 27 innings.
