Fermin picked up his second hold Thursday after pitching one scoreless inning while allowing one walk and no hits with one strikeout in a 7-1 win over Detroit.

Fermin entered the ballgame in the seventh inning and kept the 3-1 lead intact for the Angels. The 24-year-old has cruised through his past seven appearances with no earned runs allowed and seven strikeouts in six innings. The right-hander, who was not originally on the Halos' Opening Day roster, has been impressive overall with a 2.63 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB out of the bullpen.

Atlanta recalled Molina from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.

Molina made one scoreless appearance for Atlanta earlier this season but has spent most of the year at Gwinnett, where he's posted a 4.50 ERA and 28:11 K:BB over 30 innings covering five starts and four relief outings. The righty will give the Atlanta bullpen some length.

Atlanta designated Carrasco for assignment Friday.

It's the third time this season that Carrasco has been removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster. He re-signed the first two times and eventually made it back to the majors, and there's a good chance he'll re-up again and report to Triple-A Gwinnett. The 39-year-old Carrasco has allowed two runs with a 4:0 K:BB over 7.1 innings covering four appearances during his time in the majors this season.

Rojas (elbow) was placed on the 15-day IL on Friday.

Rojas had been in line to start Thursday's game against the White Sox but had to be scratched due to what was called posterior elbow soreness. The soreness being on the outside of the elbow suggests Rojas' UCL is likely fine, but the left-hander could nevertheless be looking at an extended absence.

The Twins activated Laweryson (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Laweryson was placed on the IL with a forearm strain April 11 and will rejoin the Minnesota bullpen after making four rehab appearances at Triple-A, where he surrendered six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts across 4.2 innings.

The Twins recalled Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

Funderburk was dispatched to Triple-A earlier this month but will rejoin the Twins' bullpen after appearing in five games for St. Paul, where he allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts across five innings.

Macko will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher in Friday's contest in Baltimore, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Macko hasn't gone more than 1.1 innings or thrown more than 20 pitches in six relief outings this season, so his appearance Friday will be brief. Former Oriole Austin Voth is a top candidate to work behind in Macko in a bulk-relief role, though Toronto hasn't confirmed its pitching plans once Macko exits the contest.

Alvarez won't start Friday's game against the Padres and is now expected to pitch behind opener Paxton Schultz, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

Alvarez has provided some length out of the bullpen this season, and he's now set to fill the bulk role Friday after initially being expected to make his first big-league start of 2026. Through four appearances, the 26-year-old lefty has recorded a win, a save and two holds with a 2.84 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 16:3 K:BB across 12.2 innings.

Eisert will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher in Friday's game versus the Tigers, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Eisert will cover the first inning or two for the White Sox before handing things off to primary pitcher Erick Fedde. The left-handed Eisert has allowed five runs with an 8:5 K:BB over nine frames out of the Chicago bullpen this season.

Nunez (2-2) was tagged with the loss Thursday against the Blue Jays after allowing one earned run on one hit and three walks across one inning of relief. He struck out two.

Nunez had major control issues Thursday and tossed only 13 of his 24 pitches for strikes. Fittingly, he gave up the decisive run on a bases-loaded walk. The right-hander has been far from a reliable option out of the Orioles' pen. In 11.1 innings since the beginning of May, Nunez has an 8.74 ERA and a 12:8 K:BB while allowing 11 runs on 11 hits.
