Seranthony Dominguez RP | SEA
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Advances to playing catch
Dominguez (triceps) was cleared to play catch Monday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Dominguez reiterated Monday that he felt great after throwing for the first time since landing on the injured list with right triceps tendinitis. Skipper Rob Thomson noted after the session that even though Dominguez has been on the 15-day IL for just over a week, he is expected to need at least one rehab appearance before being activated, which should happen sometime during the team's upcoming homestead or soon after, per Zolecki.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Jesse Chavez: Released by Halos
Chavez was released by the Angels on Monday.
Chavez was dealt from Atlanta to the Angels ahead of the trade deadline in early August, but he posted a 7.59 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in 10.2 innings over 11 relief appearances with his new team. The 39-year-old displayed some potential earlier in the year, so the veteran will be free to seek out other opportunities during the final month of the 2022 campaign.

Angels' Aaron Loup: Reinstated by Angels
Loup (personal) was reinstated from the restricted list Monday.
Loup sat out the Angels' three-game series in Toronto over the weekend due to his vaccination status, but he'll rejoin the bullpen ahead of Monday's series opener against the Yankees. Over nine appearances since the start of August, he's given up six runs (two earned) while striking out four in 10.1 innings.

Holton was called up by the Diamondbacks at the end of July and posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in six innings over eight relief appearances during his month in the major-league bullpen. However, he'll lose his spot on the active roster after Caleb Smith (finger) was reinstated from the injured list.

Jovani Moran RP | BOS
Twins' Jovani Moran: Recalled Monday
Moran was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Moran was sent to the minors in early August but will rejoin the major-league bullpen after Devin Smeltzer was optioned to Triple-A on Monday. Moran has posted a 1.93 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 23.1 innings over 20 major-league relief appearances this year.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Still expected back Friday
Treinen (shoulder) is expected to make his final rehab appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
When Treinen began his rehab assignment Aug. 12, the Dodgers identified Sept. 2 as the target date for the right-hander's return to the active roster, and that timeline hasn't changed in the proceeding three weeks. Treinen has performed satisfactorily through his first six rehab outings at Oklahoma City -- he's posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 6:1 K:BB in five innings -- and if he comes out of Tuesday's appearance unscathed, he'll give the Dodgers bullpen yet another potential impact arm heading into the postseason. While Craig Kimbrel seems to have lost some security as the Dodgers' closer, high-performing setup men Evan Phillips and Brusdar Graterol will likely be ahead of Treinen in the pecking order for saves if manager Dave Roberts elects to make a change at the back of the bullpen.

However, he'll head back to the minors as part of a move to make room on the active roster for Chase Anderson, whose contract was selected ahead of Monday's start against the Cardinals.
