Felix Bautista RP | BAL
Orioles' Felix Bautista: Picks up four-out save
Bautista allowed a hit in 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Bautista's starting to earn more high-leverage work -- this was his second straight appearance with a save. He extended his scoreless streak to six innings across his last six appearances. The right-hander has a 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across 14 innings this season, with two saves, a hold and a 0-1 record. Jorge Lopez (bereavement) is likely to be back soon, so Bautista may have to settle for a setup role, though he could still pitch his way into more save chances.

Joan Adon SP | WAS
Nationals' Joan Adon: Takes another loss
Adon (1-6) allowed three earned runs on three hits and five walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Mets.
Adon struggled mightily with his command, which ultimately sunk his outing. He allowed three walks before a two-RBI single in the opening frame. Adon handed out an additional two free passes in the second inning but was able to work out of the jam. In addition to inflating his ERA, Adon's inability to find the strike zone has also run up his pitch count. As a result, he's now completed fewer than five innings in five of his seven starts. Overall, he has a 7.03 ERA and 29:23 K:BB across 32 innings this season.

Dany Jimenez RP | ATL
Athletics' Dany Jimenez: Records sixth save
Jimenez struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Tigers.
Jimenez set down the side on 14 pitches to record his sixth save of the season. He now has each of the Athletics' last five saves, and he appears to be the most trusted option in the ninth inning over Lou Trivino. Jimenez has proven reliable early on in the campaign, turning in 13 scoreless innings while posting a 15:5 K:BB.

Josh Winder RP | ARI
Twins' Josh Winder: Ineffective in loss
Winder (2-1) picked up the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings of a 5-0 defeat Thursday against Houston.
Winder threw only 45 of his 77 pitches for strikes as he struggled with command. The big blow against him was a two-run blast by Yordan Alvarez in the third inning. After allowing only six baserunners in his first two starts combined, the rookie allowed nine batters to reach safely Thursday. Despite his poor outing, he still has a solid 2.45 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in his first 25.2 big-league innings.

Beau Brieske RP | DET
Tigers' Beau Brieske: Logs quality start Thursday
Brieske allowed three runs (two earned) across six innings and did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Athletics. He walked three and struck out two.
Brieske pitched reasonably well for the fourth straight time to begin his rookie campaign, though he has two losses and two no-decisions to show for it. The righty went exactly five innings in each of his previous three starts, so this was a new high-water mark for innings. Brieske has also allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his four outings, which has propelled him to a solid 3.86 ERA for the season. The 24-year-old remains in search of his first MLB win in his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Rays.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Takes second loss
Fulmer (1-2) allowed two runs on a hit and a walk across an inning of work to take the loss Thursday against the Athletics. He struck out one.
Fulmer allowed his first home run of the season in the eighth inning, a two-run blast by Seth Brown, which broke open a 3-3 tie. The righty still has a solid 2.70 ERA, but with the 9-23 Tigers struggling to score many runs, the margin for error is thin for all of the team's pitchers. Despite the hiccup, Fulmer should remain an important reliever in Detroit, typically working in front of closer Gregory Soto.

Mitch White RP | MIL
Dodgers' Mitch White: Building up as starter
White (illness) is currently stretched out to throw two innings, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The Dodgers are hoping to get White stretched out to a five-inning workload, which eliminates him from consideration to start a game in Tuesday's doubleheader against Arizona. Prior to being placed on the COVID-19 injured list April 30, White had thrown eight innings out of the bullpen and maintained a 4.50 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP with an 8:2 K:BB.

Victor Gonzalez RP | LAA
Dodgers' Victor Gonzalez: Undergoes surgery
Gonzalez underwent surgery on his elbow Wednesday, Sarah Wexler of MLB.com reports.
Manager Dave Roberts noted Gonzalez is feeling "as good as expected" after the procedure. There is no clear timetable for the left-hander's return to the mound, though late August is the team's current estimate.

Yency Almonte RP | LAD
Dodgers' Yency Almonte: Contract selected by Dodgers
Almonte's contract was selected by the Dodgers on Thursday.
Almonte made 48 relief appearances for the Rockies last year and recorded a 7.55 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 47.2 innings. He began the 2022 season at Triple-A Oklahoma City and posted a 3.52 ERA and 0.86 in 15.1 innings over 11 minor-league outings. The right-hander will join the major-league bullpen after Ryan Pepiot was sent down Thursday, and Almonte is unlikely to pitch in many high-leverage situations.

Duane Underwood RP | NYY
Pirates' Duane Underwood: Returns from injured list
Underwood (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Underwood has been sidelined since experiencing hamstring discomfort in the season opener, but he'll rejoin the active roster ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Reds. He had a 4.33 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 65:27 K:BB across 72.2 innings for the Buccos last year.
