  • Dodgers' Ben Casparius: Notches second save

Casparius recorded the final out in Sunday's 3-0 win over Tampa Bay to earn his second save of the season.

The Dodgers initially turned to Blake Treinen in the ninth inning, though he was able to record only two outs while allowing a hit and a pair of walks. Casparius was then called upon with the bases loaded, where he'd retire Yandy Diaz for his second save this year, both of which have come in the past 10 days. The 26-year-old Casparius should remain firmly in LA's ninth-inning mix due to Treinen struggling and both Kirby Yates (back) and Tanner Scott (elbow) being on the IL.

  • Joe Boyle SP | TB

Rays' Joe Boyle: Goes five scoreless in no-decision

Boyle did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out two.

It was a strong rebound effort from Boyle, after he gave up six runs (four earned) in just 3.1 innings his last time out against the Yankees. Overall, the 6-foot-8 Boyle has impressed this season, posting a 2.30 ERA with a 0.88 WHIP and 26:11 K:BB through his first 27.1 innings. He'll remain in the rotation going forward after the Rays traded away Zack Littell and Taj Bradley at the deadline. Boyle is currently scheduled to face the Mariners on the road in his next outing.

  • Orioles' Carson Ragsdale: Acquired by Baltimore

The Orioles claimed Ragsdale off waivers from the Giants and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by San Francisco last week but will retain a 40-man roster spot with Baltimore. Ragsdale has yet to make his MLB debut and has a 5.37 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 58:38 K:BB across 65.1 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

  • Ryan Loutos RP | SEA

Nationals' Ryan Loutos: Headed back to Rochester

Washington optioned Loutos to Triple-A Rochester following Sunday's 14-3 loss to the Brewers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Loutos pitched two-thirds of an inning in the series finale, surrendering a two-run home run to Brice Turang, which allowed an inherited runner to score. The right-hander also appeared in the series opener Friday, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits, including a home run. On the season, Loutos now owns an inflated 12.75 ERA and 2.33 WHIP with eight strikeouts over 12 innings in 12 appearances between the Nationals and Dodgers.

  • White Sox's Jesse Scholtens: DFA'd by White Sox

The White Sox designated Scholtens for assignment Sunday.

The right-hander was activated from the 60-day injured list Saturday and optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, and he's now been removed from the 40-man roster while the White Sox open up a spot for right-hander Elvis Peguero, who was claimed off waivers from the Brewers. Scholtens has been sidelined since spring training of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and he posted a 5.28 ERA across his eight rehab outings with Charlotte.

  • Elvis Peguero RP | CHW

White Sox's Elvis Peguero: Claimed off waivers

The White Sox claimed Peguero off waivers from the Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A Nashville in mid-May and was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Thursday to make room on the 40-man roster for the club's acquisitions at the trade deadline. Peguero had a 2.98 ERA in 52 big-league appearances last season, though it was accompanied by a 1.54 WHIP.

  • Bryan Hudson RP | CHW

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Claimed by White Sox

The White Sox claimed Hudson off waivers from the Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

The left-hander was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Thursday but was quickly able to find a home on another organization's 40-man roster. Hudson was a key bullpen piece in 2024 with a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB across 62.1 innings, but he had a 4.35 ERA in 12 big-league appearances and struggled to a 6.84 ERA at the Triple-A level so far in 2025.

  • Nick Anderson RP | ATH

Rockies' Nick Anderson: Rejoins big club

The Rockies recalled Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A on Monday but is back with the Rockies with Seth Halvorsen (elbow) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move. Anderson surrendered five earned runs over one innings during his lone appearance with Colorado following his call-up in late July.

  • Steven Cruz RP | KC

Royals' Steven Cruz: Out with shoulder impingement

The Royals placed Cruz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right shoulder impingement.

Cruz departed Saturday's game against the Blue Jays due to the injury and will be sidelined for at least the next couple of weeks. Daniel Lynch (elbow) was reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move to round out Kansas City's bullpen.

  • Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Shut down with elbow strain

The Rockies placed Halvorsen on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right elbow strain.

Halvorsen's elbow acted up Saturday, prompting the Rockies to pull him from the contest midway through Spencer Horwitz's at-bat. Though Dugan Darnell ended up finishing out the contest, Victor Vodnik and Juan Mejia could be the top options for saves while Halvorsen is on the shelf. According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, the right-hander will undergo an MRI on Sunday, and he's likely to miss more than the minimum 15 days. Halvorsen has converted 11 of 14 save chances while providing a 4.99 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 36:21 K:BB in 39.2 innings on the season.
