Diamondbacks' Jalen Beeks: IL move official
The Diamondbacks placed Beeks on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 8, due to lower back inflammation.
As manager Torey Lovullo indicated earlier Friday, Beeks will be shelved with back inflammation. The move opens up a spot for Kendall Graveman (hip) to rejoin the active roster. In 41 innings, Beeks has a 4.39 ERA and a 39:15 K:BB.

Josh Sborz RP | TEX
Rangers' Josh Sborz: Starting rehab stint
Sborz (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Sborz will finally begin his minor-league rehab assignment after progressing to throwing live batting practice June 19. It'll be his first game action since undergoing shoulder surgery last November. He's on track to rejoin the Rangers in late July.

Eduarniel Nunez P | ATH
Padres' Eduarniel Nunez: Optioned to El Paso
The Padres optioned Nunez to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
After giving up two earned runs over 4.2 innings during his first nine days as a major leaguer, Nunez will head back to Triple-A to clear room for Ryan Bergert's (forearm) return from the IL. The 26-year-old Nunez also owns a 2.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 30 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, and if he continues at that rate, he should be able to make another appearance for the Padres at some point down the line.

Jared Shuster RP | STL
White Sox's Jared Shuster: Returns from rehab to Triple-A
The White Sox returned Shuster (finger) from his rehab assignment Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.
Shuster has been sidelined since June 8 with a blister on his pitching hand, but after making a trio of rehab starts, he's been activated from the 15-day injured list. However, the 26-year-old will lose his spot on the active roster and remain in Charlotte, where he completed his rehab assignment.

Ryan Burr RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Ryan Burr: Placed on 60-day IL
The Blue Jays placed Burr on the 60-day injured list Friday due to a strained right rotator cuff.
Burr exited a relief appearance Wednesday with a shoulder injury, and further testing revealed he strained his right rotator cuff. The injury will sideline him for at least two months, and he won't be eligible for activation until Sept. 10. He missed the first three months of the season with issues in the same shoulder. The Blue Jays selected Tommy Nance's contract from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Tommy Nance RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Tommy Nance: Selected to MLB roster
The Blue Jays selected Nance's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
With Ryan Burr (shoulder) headed to the 60-day IL, Nance will come up from Triple-A to fill the opening on the 40-man roster and in the Blue Jays' bullpen. The 34-year-old righty has spent the entire season in the minors, turning in a 4.88 ERA and 1.22 WHIP alongside a 42:7 K:BB over 31.1 innings. He'll likely work in middle relief while with Toronto.

Kendall Graveman RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Activation pending
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Graveman (hip) will be activated from the injured list, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Graveman has been on the shelf since June 9 due to a right hip impingement and began a rehab assignment earlier this week. He threw a scoreless inning with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League squad Tuesday. Jalen Beeks (back) is headed to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Jalen Beeks RP | TEX
Diamondbacks' Jalen Beeks: Going on IL
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Beeks will be placed on the injured list due to lower back inflammation, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Beeks hasn't pitched since July 6, and it's unclear when the injury popped up. The left-hander was expected to be in the mix for save opportunities while Shelby Miller (forearm) is on the shelf. However, it seems as though Kevin Ginkel will hold down closer duties. Kendall Graveman (hip) is expected to be activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Angels' Jake Eder: Back with Halos
The Angels recalled Eder from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
Since being demoted to Triple-A in late May, Eder has registered a 7.05 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 37 innings. Despite his recent struggles, the 26-year-old will rejoin the big-league club to provide length out of the Angels' bullpen. He replaces Jack Kochanowicz on the 26-man roster.
