Tim Mayza RP | PHI
Phillies' Tim Mayza: Back with Phillies as NRI
The Phillies re-signed Mayza to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training.
Mayza finished last season with the Phillies, putting up a 3.78 ERA and 15:5 K:BB over 16.2 regular-season frames between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The veteran left-hander will compete for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen, but with Jose Alvarado and Tanner Banks locks for the roster and Kyle Backhus also around, Mayza is a good bet to begin the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Garrett Acton RP | MIA
Rockies' Garrett Acton: Loses roster spot
Acton was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Thursday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
The Rockies made their signing of Willi Castro official, meaning they needed to make room on their 40-man roster. Acton was on the wrong end of that roster shuffle, as he lost his roster spot only about three months after he was claimed by the team. He made one appearance in the majors in 2025, firing a scoreless inning for the Rays.

Richard Lovelady RP | NYM
Mets' Richard Lovelady: Bumped from roster
Lovelady was designated for assignment Thursday, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.
Lovelady re-signed with the Mets in October after closing the 2025 season with the team. He'll likely rejoin the 40-man roster at some point during the 2026 campaign as a depth option out of the bullpen, assuming he clears waivers.

Dane Dunning SP | SEA
Mariners' Dane Dunning: Nets MiLB deal with Mariners
The Mariners signed Dunning to a minor-league contract Thursday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Dunning had to settle for a minor-league deal after posting a 6.97 ERA and 21:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings between Texas and Atlanta in 2025. The 31-year-old could be useful swingman depth for Seattle at Triple-A Tacoma.

Gus Varland RP | WAS
Nationals' Gus Varland: Scooped on waivers by Nationals
The Nationals claimed Varland (undisclosed) off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Varland didn't pitch during the final three months of the 2025 season due to an undisclosed injury, and it's unclear what his current health status is. The right-handed reliever has collected a 4.82 ERA and 47:24 K:BB across 46.2 frames covering parts of two major-league seasons.

Taylor Rogers RP | MIN
Twins' Taylor Rogers: Heading back to Minnesota
The Twins signed Rogers to a one-year, $2 million contract, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic report.
Rogers was drafted by the Twins and spent the first six of his 10 big-league seasons in Minnesota. The left-hander split his time between the Reds and Cubs in 2025, finishing with a 3.38 ERA and 53:23 K:BB over 50.2 regular-season innings. The 35-year-old Rogers isn't as effective as he once was, but he could be part of the late-inning mix in an unsettled Twins bullpen.

Cooper Criswell RP | SEA
Mets' Cooper Criswell: DFA'd by Mets
The Mets designated Criswell for assignment Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Criswell will end up as the roster casualty necessary to create space on the Mets' 40-man following the acquisition of Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers from Milwaukee on Wednesday. Criswell made seven regular-season appearances with the Red Sox last year, during which he logged a 3.57 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 17.2 innings. If he passes through waivers unclaimed, he will likely spend the majority of 2026 at Triple-A Syracuse with a chance to make an occasional appearance in the majors.

Tobias Myers RP | NYM
Mets' Tobias Myers: Traded to Mets
The Brewers traded Myers and Freddy Peralta to the Mets on Wednesday in exchange for Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
While Peralta is the most notable addition to the Mets' pitching staff from the trade, Myers has been productive in his own right, posting a 3.15 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 188.2 frames since reaching the majors in 2024. He worked primarily as a long reliever for the Brewers in 2025 but will likely get a chance to compete for a spot in New York's rotation during spring training.

Luis Garcia RP | NYM
Mets' Luis Garcia: Gets one-year pact from Mets
The Mets signed Garcia to a one-year, $1.75 million contract Wednesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
He'll have an opportunity to earn an additional $1.25 million in incentives. Garcia pitched for three different teams in 2025, finishing with a 3.42 ERA and 48:26 K:BB over 55.1 frames between the Dodgers, Nationals and Angels. He will turn 39 next week and will fill a middle-relief role in Queens.

Tigers' Phil Bickford: Gets minors deal from Tigers
Bickford signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Bickford spent time with the Cubs' and Phillies' Triple-A affiliates in 2025, posting a 3.38 ERA and 0.98 WHIP to go with a 54:17 K:BB across 48 total innings. The 30-year-old righty will likely spend the majority of 2026 at Triple-A Toledo but could return to the big leagues if he continues to find success in the minors.
