Garrett McDaniels RP | LAD
Angels' Garrett McDaniels: Resumes throwing program
McDaniels (biceps) has been throwing to hitters at the Angels' complex in Arizona, per MLB.com.
McDaniels landed on the 15-day IL in early May due to left biceps tendinitis. The southpaw will likely need a minor-league rehab stint before he's ready to be activated. McDaniels could be back in the big-league bullpen sometime in June.

Kyle Hurt RP | LAD
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Progresses to bullpen sessions
Hurt (elbow) recently began throwing bullpen sessions at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona, MLB.com reports.
The progression to throwing bullpens represents a significant step for Hurt in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The procedure took place last July, so Hurt isn't certain to make it back to pitching in big-league games this season, a return from the 60-day injured list in September isn't out of the question.

Jake Cousins RP | LAD
Yankees' Jake Cousins: Resumes throwing
Cousins (forearm/pectoral) threw a side session of approximately 30 pitches Saturday, MLB.com reports.
Cousins was temporarily shut down from throwing in mid-May due to a pectoral injury, but the righty reliever has since been able to return to his throwing progression. He's been on the injured list all season due to a right forearm strain, and he's expected to be ready to join the Yankees bullpen sometime in June if he doesn't have any additional setbacks.

Luke Weaver SP | NYM
Yankees' Luke Weaver: Escapes with save
Weaver picked up the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over Colorado, allowing one run on three hits with no strikeouts over one inning.
The Yankees had a two-run lead entering the bottom of the ninth, but Weaver nearly didn't make it out of the frame with the save. He allowed a solo homer to Mickey Moniak to begin the inning and had runners on first and second with one out before retiring Ezequiel Tovar and Hunter Goodman to end the game. Weaver hadn't allowed an earned run in his previous eight appearances, and he's now converted seven of his eight save chances.

Mason Miller RP | SD
Athletics' Mason Miller: Notches 12th save
Miller picked up the save Sunday against Philadelphia, allowing one hit with one strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning.
It was a get-right game for Miller, who had allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over his last six appearances and blew his last save opportunity. He gave up an infield single with two outs to Alec Bohm, but Bohm's pinch runner, Johan Rojas, got caught stealing to end the game. Miller owns a 5.79 ERA in 18.2 innings this season and has already blown two saves after blowing just three of his 31 save chances in 2024.

Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Notches ninth save
Megill allowed a hit and no walks while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Sunday in Pittsburgh.
The veteran right-hander has successfully converted his past seven save chances and has given up just one earned run across his last 12.2 innings. The last week has been especially busy for Megill, as he's recorded four saves since May 18. After having some trouble with walks early in the year, Megill has issued just two free passes in his past nine outings.

Reed Garrett RP | NYM
Mets' Reed Garrett: Secures first save
Garrett collected the save in Sunday's 3-1 win against the Dodgers, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning. He struck out two.
After regular Mets closer Edwin Diaz pitched in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday, Garrett was called upon to convert his fifth career save. The 32-year-old showed no unsteadiness in working around a single to wrap the win easily on 15 pitches. Garrett was only filling in for Diaz, but given that he has been dependable with a 0.82 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB across 22 innings, he could enter the picture for saves in Queens if anything happens to Diaz.

Phil Maton RP | CHC
Cardinals' Phil Maton: Picks up second save
Maton allowed a hit and struck out two batters during a scoreless inning to earn a save against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Maton also hit a batter but was able to protect the 4-3 lead. He's now converted two of his three save chances this year and picked up his first since April 9. Overall, Maton has been successful this season; he's registered a 2.84 ERA across 19 innings and all six runs he's allowed so far came during two appearances. Ryan Helsley did not appear in the game after pitching Friday and Saturday.
-
Robert Suarez RP | ATL
Padres' Robert Suarez: Collects 17th save
Suarez earned the save in Sunday's 5-3 win at Atlanta, pitching a clean inning with no strikeouts.
The right-handed closer succinctly wrapped the game on nine pitches, seven of which were strikes, to tally his NL-leading 17th save. After allowing five runs in a blown save May 14, Suarez has gotten back on track with four consecutive outings without allowing an earned run. Across 22 total innings, the 34-year-old has pitched to a 2.45 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB while going 16-for-18 on save opportunities.

Ronny Henriquez RP | MIA
Marlins' Ronny Henriquez: Converts first save
Henriquez earned the save in Sunday's 3-0 win against the Angels, striking out two in a clean inning.
The 24-year-old right-hander required only 10 pitches to secure the first save of his career. After picking up the win in Saturday's contest against the Angels, Henriquez looks to have entered the picture for high-leverage work at the back of the Miami bullpen along with Anthony Bender, Calvin Faucher and Jesus Tinoco. Henriquez has pitched to a 1.78 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 35:13 K:BB across 25.1 innings this season.
