Marlins' Lake Bachar: Sent to minors
The Marlins optioned Bachar to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Bachar gave the Marlins 2.2 innings out of the bullpen and allowed one run during Friday's contest, dropping his ERA to 4.73 through 26.2 frames on the year. In an effort to keep their bullpen stocked with fresh arms, the Marlins will now send him back to Triple-A in favor of Janson Junk, though Bachar could still return to Miami before the end of the year.

Marlins' Janson Junk: Selected to MLB roster
The Marlins selected Junk's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Junk has spent the entire season in the minors, turning in a 2.78 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 45.1 innings. Riding plenty of momentum, he'll now get another chance to prove himself in the big leagues, likely as a long-relief option. Lake Bachar was optioned to Jacksonville to make room on the active roster, and Rob Brantly (lat) was moved to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man spot.

Twins' Jhoan Duran: Collects another win Saturday
Duran (3-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the Royals, striking out two while allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.
The Twins' closer entered the game with the score tied 4-4 in the top of the ninth and got rewarded for his efforts when Brooks Lee hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the frame. All three of Duran's wins have come in his last five appearances, and through 23.1 innings on the season he sports a sparkling 1.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB with eight saves in nine chances.

Orioles' Cionel Perez: DFA'd by Baltimore
The Orioles designated Perez for assignment Saturday.
Perez will exit the 40-man roster after posting an 8.31 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and 21:18 K:BB across 21.2 innings this season. The move makes room in the Orioles' bullpen for Yaramil Hiraldo, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Norfolk by Baltimore on Saturday.

Red Sox's Sean Newcomb: Exits 40-man roster
The Red Sox designated Newcomb for assignment Saturday.
The move makes room on the roster for Luis Guerrero, who the Red Sox recalled from Triple-A Worcester. Newcomb has a 3.83 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB across 40 innings this season, but he has yielded seven runs (six earned) over his last 12.1 frames.

Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Returning to majors
The Red Sox recalled Guerrero from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.
Guerrero has appeared in three major-league games for the Red Sox this season and has tossed four scoreless innings while allowing one hit and striking out three batters without issuing a walk. He has a 4.91 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB across 18.1 innings in Triple-A this season. Guerrero will take the spot in the bullpen vacated by Sean Newcomb, who was designated for assignment by the Red Sox in a corresponding move.

Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Lands on IL with shoulder injury
The Blue Jays placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right shoulder impingement.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Saturday that the issue has developed slowly over the last few weeks, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca. Garcia will be shut down from throwing and will undergo further tests to determine a timeline for his return to the majors. It's a significant blow to Toronto's bullpen, with Garcia posting a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB across 20 innings with three saves and six holds this season. Paxton Schultz was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Recalled by Toronto
The Blue Jays recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
The move corresponds with the Blue Jays placing Yimi Garcia (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list. Schultz has appeared in two major-league games for the Blue Jays this season, including an eight-strikeout performance in his MLB debut against the Mariners on April 20. He has a 3.48 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across 20.2 innings in Triple-A this season.

The Dodgers optioned Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Sauer pitched three innings and gave up two runs (one earned) in Friday's 13-inning marathon and will now end up as the odd man out of a roster spot with Bobby Miller coming up from Triple-A. Sauer owns a 3.05 ERA and 0.92 WHIP across 20.2 innings in the big leagues this season, so there's a good chance we'll see him back in Dodger blue later this year.

Dan Altavilla: Let go by White Sox
The White Sox released Altavilla from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.
Altavilla signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox in late March after appearing in five regular-season games for the Royals in 2024. Altavilla appeared in 20 games for Charlotte and posted a 2.49 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, seven saves and an 18:10 K:BB across 21.2 innings. The 32-year-old right-hander could garner interest from teams looking to add depth to its bullpen.
