Clayton Beeter RP | WAS
Yankees' Clayton Beeter: Activated and optioned
The Yankees activated Beeter (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Beeter is over his right shoulder impingement, but the Yankees have elected to keep him at Scranton-Wilkes-Barre -- where he had been on a rehab assignment -- for now. The righty has permitted four runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 8.2 rehab innings.

Tyler Matzek RP | NYY
Yankees' Tyler Matzek: Booted off 40-man roster
The Yankees designated Matzek for assignment Friday.
Matzek made seven relief appearances for the Yankees after recovering from an oblique strain and had a lot of traffic on the bases, yielding three runs on 11 hits and five walks over 6.1 frames. The left-hander hasn't been healthy and effective since 2021, but he shouldn't have trouble landing a minor-league contract.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Activated from 15-day injured list
The Yankees activated Loaisiga (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Manager Aaron Boone had indicated Loaisiga would remain on his rehab assignment through the weekend, but the Yankees have elected to bring the reliever back early. Coming back from an internal brace procedure, Loaisiga dominated in six rehab appearances, allowing just one run with a 9:1 K:BB over 7.1 innings. The right-hander could work his way back into high-leverage appearances for the Yankees but will likely be eased back into such situations.

Cooper Criswell RP | SEA
Red Sox's Cooper Criswell: Returns to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Criswell to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
The right-hander was called up by Boston on Wednesday and will return to Triple-A without seeing game action. Criswell appeared in three games for the Red Sox at the start of the season and gave up five earned runs over 4.1 frames, though he's been dominant in Worcester's rotation with a 1.99 ERA in five outings.

Nick Burdi RP | NYM
Red Sox's Nick Burdi: Added to roster
The Red Sox selected Burdi's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Burdi has dominated at Worcester this season, yielding just one run with a 25:5 K:BB across 16.2 relief innings. The 32-year-old got into 12 games with the Yankees last season, collecting a 1.86 ERA and 12:9 K:BB over 9.2 frames. Burdi is likely to work in middle relief.

Miguel Castro RP | CHW
White Sox's Miguel Castro: Added to roster
The White Sox selected Castro's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
Castro was acquired from the Astros for international signing bonus pool money and has immediately been added to the big-league roster. The veteran reliever has posted a 2.29 ERA and 20:8 K:BB over 19.2 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

Christian Montes De Oca RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Christian Montes De Oca: Set for first call-up
The Diamondbacks plan to call up Montes De Oca from Triple-A Reno on Friday, MLB reporter Mike Rodriguez reports.
The Diamondbacks optioned Joe Mantiply to Reno on Thursday, and Montes De Oca looks as though he'll replace him in the bullpen ahead of Friday's game against the Rockies. The 25-year-old right-hander has shown improved control at Reno this season, walking just four in 19 innings while turning in a 2.37 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 12 appearances so far. While he hasn't displayed a great strikeout punch at the upper levels of the minors, he has the potential to stick around in the Arizona bullpen.

Matt Sauer RP | LAD
Dodgers' Matt Sauer: Lasts four innings in start
Sauer allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Thursday.
Sauer was fine in his first big-league start, but he didn't pitch long enough to qualify for the win in a 19-2 blowout. He gave up a run in each of the first two innings before settling in. Over 15.2 innings this season, Sauer has a 2.30 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB. He's got some starting experience in the minors, but he's been utilized as a middle reliever for the bulk of his time in the majors. Clayton Kershaw (toe) is poised to make his season debut this weekend, with Landon Knack a likelier bet to stick in the rotation than Sauer.
