  • Kaleb Ort RP | LAA

Astros' Kaleb Ort: Reinstated from IL

The Astros activated Ort (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Sunday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The right-hander will take the roster spot of Forrest Whitley, who was placed on the IL due to a knee sprain. Ort has been sidelined since the start of spring training but is ready to join the Astros after allowing two earned runs with a 5:5 K:BB in seven minor-league rehab appearances.

  • Astros' Forrest Whitley: Knee injury resurfaces

Whitley was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left knee sprain, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The right-hander was activated from the injured list last weekend after missing the first few weeks of the season with a bone bruise in the same knee, but he felt something was off while playing catch Saturday and is now back on the shelf after making just one appearance. A return timeline could come into focus Monday once Whitley is further evaluated.

  • Yilber Diaz SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Yilber Diaz: Headed back to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Diaz to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Diaz was called up from Triple-A on Friday and made his 2025 debut against Atlanta, but he was roughed up for three runs on four hits and three walks over three innings while striking out one batter. Arizona selected Scott McGough's contract from Reno in a corresponding move.

  • Scott McGough RP | ATH

Diamondbacks' Scott McGough: Headed to majors

The Diamondbacks selected McGough's contract from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

McGough signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks in February after Arizona declined his $4 million team option for 2025 in November. He's appeared in eight games at Triple-A, posting a 4.82 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across 9.1 innings. The move corresponds with Yilber Diaz being optioned to Reno and J.P. Feyereisen being designated for assignment.

  • Logan Evans RP | SEA

Mariners' Logan Evans: Promoted for MLB debut

The Mariners selected Evans' contract from Triple-A Tacoma ahead of his start against the Marlins on Sunday.

The 23-year-old gets a favorable matchup for his big-league debut after posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB in his first five starts of the year at Triple-A. Logan Gilbert sustained an elbow strain Friday and joined George Kirby (shoulder) on the injured list, so Evans should get multiple turns through the rotation if he has a decent showing in his debut.

  • Luarbert Arias RP | MIA

Marlins' Luarbert Arias: Recalled by Miami

The Marlins recalled Arias from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

The move corresponds with Connor Gillispie being optioned to Jacksonville. Arias has an 11.37 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in 6.1 major-league innings, but he's not allowed a run in three of his four outings in the minors this season. He'll give the Marlins another right-handed option out of the bullpen.

  • Jaden Hill P | COL

Rockies' Jaden Hill: Optioned to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Hill to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Bradley Blalock, who will start against the Reds on Sunday. Hill has made three appearances out of the Rockies bullpen this season, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five across 2.2 innings. The 25-year-old should return to the majors at some point this season.

  • Rockies' Bradley Blalock: Recalled, starting Sunday

The Rockies recalled Blalock from Triple-A Albuquerque, and he'll start in Sunday's series finale versus the Reds at Coors Field.

Blalock won a spot on the Rockies' Opening Day roster as a long reliever, making two appearances out of the bullpen before being optioned to Triple-A. The 24-year-old right-hander has since started three games at Triple-A and will now get his first start of the season with the big club, affording all other members of the rotation an extra day of rest. The Rockies haven't announced their plans for Blalock beyond Sunday, but a poor showing would put him at risk of a demotion.

  • Davis Daniel RP | CIN

    Braves' Davis Daniel: Gets call-up

Atlanta recalled Daniel from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Daniel takes the spot on the 26-man roster created when Jesse Chavez was designated for assignment. Daniel has started three games at Triple-A this season, going 0-2 with a 4.63 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB across 11.2 innings. The 27-year-old right-hander will likely serve as a long-relief option, though he could make a spot start or two while Spencer Strider (hamstring) is on the 15-day injured list.

  • Jesse Chavez RP | ATL

Braves' Jesse Chavez: DFA'd by Atlanta

Atlanta designated Chavez for assignment Sunday.

It's the second time Chavez has been DFA'd by Atlanta this season, after he elected for free agency then returned to the organization on a minor-league deal the last time. He was promoted to the majors Wednesday and saw action against the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two in one inning. Assuming he clears waivers, Chavez will once again have the option to reject a minor-league assignment and enter free agency.
