Matt Tabor SP | ARI
Mariners' Matt Tabor: Joins Seattle on MiLB deal
The Mariners signed Tabor to a minor-league deal Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Tabor has been out of action over the past two years due to a blood clot removal and Tommy John surgery. His last full season was in 2021 when he managed to climb up to Triple-A Reno, posting a 3.88 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 51 innings while going 1-4 over eight starts with the Aces.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Astros' Justin Verlander: Throws three-inning simulated game
Verlander (shoulder) threw a three-inning, 52-pitch simulated game Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Verlander came out of the session without any issues. Although nothing definitive has been determined yet, his next step is expected to be beginning a rehab assignment. The 41-year-old figures to require at least a couple rehab starts before rejoining the Astros' rotation. Verlander has been working his way back from a right shoulder problem.

John Means SP | KC
Orioles' John Means: Struggles in rehab start
Means (forearm) was roughed up for seven runs over one-plus inning Sunday in his first rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk.
Means surrendered a pair of home runs among six hits and walked one batter. He threw 32 pitches, induced three whiffs and averaged 90.8 mph on his four-seamer, which was 0.9 mph lower than a season ago. Clearly, it's not the kind of performance Means was looking for as a ramps up for a return to the Orioles' rotation, but it will become worrisome only if it continues in subsequent rehab outings. He'll need a handful of rehab starts before returning potentially in late April.

Bryce Miller SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryce Miller: Coughs up four runs
Miller (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Boston.
All the damage against Miller came via the long ball, with Tyler O'Neill knocking a solo homer in the second inning and Enmanuel Valdez breaking the game open with a three-run blast in the fourth. As a rookie last season, Miller gave up multiple home runs in five of his 25 starts. On the bright side, the 25-year-old's stuff looked solid; Miller got 16 whiffs on 42 swings, including six on just 10 swings against his splitter. He's currently expected to take the mound in Milwaukee this weekend.

Erick Fedde SP | CHW
White Sox's Erick Fedde: Fans seven in team debut
Fedde did not factor into the decision, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over 4.2 innings during Sunday's loss to the Tigers. He struck out seven.
Fedde needed 96 pitches to record 14 outs, but he looked solid in his first start with the White Sox. After playing each of his first six big-league seasons with the Nationals, Fedde spent time last year in the KBO with much success, leading to another major-league opportunity, this time with the White Sox. His next start is tentatively slated to take place on the road next weekend against Kansas City.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Tigers' Jack Flaherty: Fans seven in quality start
Flaherty did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings during a win over the White Sox. He struck out seven.
It's only one start against a weak White Sox lineup, but Flaherty was everything the Tigers hoped they'd start to see after they signed him as a free agent this past offseason. The right-hander allowed a solo shot to Korey Lee in the third inning but otherwise kept the White Sox off the board in the quality start. He pitched well enough to earn the win, but Andrew Chafin allowed a home run to Paul DeJong in the seventh that left Flaherty with a no-decision. His soft start to the schedule continues next week, as he's tentatively slated to face Oakland.

Kevin Gausman SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Looks strong in season debut
Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on two hits in 4.1 innings against the Rays. He struck out six.
Gausman looked sharp in his debut, allowing only three baserunners while striking out six, but was on a pitch count and was pulled with one out in the fifth after 69 pitches. The only blemish to Gausman's line came on a first-inning home run by Randy Arozarena. Gausman was an All-Star selection for the second time last season, leading the league with 237 strikeouts and finishing third in AL Cy Young voting. Despite the abbreviated outing, Gausman showed similar form in Sunday's start. The veteran righty will look to stretch out further in his next start, tentatively slated for next weekend in the Bronx against the Yankees.

Jon Gray SP | TEX
Rangers' Jon Gray: Ineffective versus Cubs
Gray tossed 3.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out two batters in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.
Gray made his return to the mound after missing his final outing of the spring with a stiff neck, struggling to find any groove against Chicago. The right-hander gave up a three-run homer to Christopher Morel in the first inning. He later allowed three straight batters to reach base in the fourth inning, giving up two more runs and ultimately exiting the game with two outs in the frame. Gray will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively set to be Saturday at home versus the Astros.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Guardians' Carlos Carrasco: Mediocre in 2024 debut
Carrasco didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Oakland, lasting five innings and yielding three runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out three.
Carrasco was solid outside of a rough first inning when he allowed two runs on three hits. While the 37-year-old is expected to stick in the Guardians rotation until Gavin Williams (elbow) returns from the 15-day IL, there shouldn't be high expectations for Carrasco after he generated an ugly 6.80 ERA in 90 innings with the Mets last season. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Twins in Minnesota.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Angels' Tyler Anderson: Making season debut Tuesday
Anderson is scheduled to start in Tuesday's game against the Marlins at LoanDepot Park.
Anderson is opening the season fifth in the Angels' rotation order coming off a poor debut season for Anaheim in 2023 in which he went 6-6 with a 5.43 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 119:64 K:BB over 141 innings. The lefty showed better in Cactus League play this spring (3.78 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 20:3 K:BB in 16.2 innings), but fantasy managers outside of AL-only or deeper mixed leagues may want to see Anderson turn in better results in the games that count before trusting him as a streaming option.
