Canning (7-5) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out seven without issuing a walk.

Canning cruised through the first three innings before surrendering a two-run shot to Brent Rooker in the fourth to put the Angels down 2-1. Those would be the only two runs he'd allow on the afternoon as the right-hander retired eight of the next nine batters he faced following the home run and even struck out the side in the sixth. Canning has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last six outings, though he's now lost three of his last four decisions.

Keuchel allowed five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two batters over 3.1 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.

Four of the five hits given up by Keuchel went for extra bases, including two-run homers by Adolis Garcia and Sam Huff. The veteran southpaw came into the contest having pitched 18 innings without surrendering a long ball on the season. Keuchel got the start after working in a piggyback role his last time out, but it's uncertain if he'll remain in the rotation moving forward. He's posted a 5.06 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:7 K:BB across 21.1 frames on the campaign.

Blackburn (4-4) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over five innings against the Angels. He struck out four.

Blackburn walked the first two batters he faced and needed 29 pitches to get through the first inning. The right-hander settled in nicely after that, however, allowing just three more hits and a walk over the next four frames while holding the Angels to one run. Blackburn has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts, lowering his ERA to 3.81 on the season. On the downside, he's also issued multiple walks in four of his last six outings.

Miller (elbow) struck out four over three perfect innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Miller needed only 37 pitches to cruise through his four frames and averaged 98.2 miles per hour with his fastball. The Athletics had indicated that Saturday's outing with Las Vegas would probably be Miller's final rehab start, and if it was, he certainly passed the test with flying colors. The 25-year-old has been out since early May because of a UCL sprain in his right elbow, so his workload with the Athletics down the stretch could be quite limited. As such, Miller could make for a middling fantasy option once he returns, though he could be a strong ratio stabilizer in the innings he does pitch.

Greinke will be used in bulk relief for the Royals in Sunday's game versus the Red Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Taylor Clarke will serve as the opener for Kansas City and likely work an inning or two before giving way to Greinke, who will be pitching out of the bullpen for the second time this season. In his return from the injured list Aug. 22, Greinke tossed four scoreless frames behind opener Angel Zerpa before returning to a traditional starting role his last time out. He'll carry a 1-13 record and 5.28 ERA into action Sunday.

Wells hasn't pitched at Triple-A Norfolk since Aug. 25 due to right arm fatigue, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

It now seems in retrospect that the fatigue contributed to Wells' midseason struggles and subsequent demotion. He was recently moved to the bullpen at Norfolk and has had trouble bouncing back after outings. The Orioles are hoping he'll be able to pitch again soon, but realistically, they can't be counting on him to contribute down the stretch.

Bradley will be recalled from Triple-A Durham to start Sunday versus the Guardians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Bradley will be making his first start in the majors since late July. He's turned in a mixed bag of results so far at the big-league level, posting a 5.67 ERA and 1.41 WHIP but also an excellent 99:26 K:BB over 74.2 frames. He collected a 2.91 ERA and 24:11 K:BB over 21.2 innings covering five starts with Durham in August.

Gil's (elbow) fastball was clocked at 98 miles per hour during his first rehab outing Friday for Single-A Tampa, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Gil allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three batters over two innings. His fastball averaged 96 mph in the majors in 2021, so it's a positive sign that his velocity is all the way back after having not pitched since May 2022 due to Tommy John surgery.

Gilbert didn't factor into the decision in the Mariners' loss to the Mets on Friday, recording nine strikeouts while allowing an earned run on seven hits and no walks over 6.2 innings.

The right-hander served up his third straight quality start but failed to come up with his third victory in that span thanks to the dominance of opposing starter Kodai Senga. Gilbert pounded 67 of his 97 pitches in for strikes while making just one major mistake in the form of a sixth-inning, game-tying solo home run by Brandon Nimmo. He has now allowed three runs or less in six of his last seven turns, a stretch in which he boasts a 4-0 mark, 2.70 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 9.6 K/9 across 43.1 innings. Gilbert's next opportunity to get back in the win column arrives in a tough road matchup against the Reds next week.

Turnbull didn't make his scheduled turn through the rotation at Triple-A Toledo this week after Tigers manager A.J. Hinch relayed Saturday that the right-hander is dealing with a cracked toenail, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Toledo hasn't placed Turnbull on its 7-day injured list, and Hinch relays that Turnbull should get back on the mound "any given day." Turnbull was recently activated from the Tigers' 60-day IL after recovering from a neck injury and completing a six-start rehab assignment. He made the last four of those starts with Toledo, posting a 7.71 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 16.1 innings.
