Cortes (shoulder) told reporters Tuesday that he will be shut down from throwing for 15 days, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Cortes will be placed on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his left shoulder after feeling a twinge in a start against the Angels in which he threw 101 pitches. He received a cortisone shot in the shoulder Tuesday, and he'll be evaluated by the team after 10 days, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. The left-hander will likely need to throw several bullpens and make a rehab start or two before he's ready to return to the Yankees' rotation. That likely puts him out throughout the month of June with a chance to return to the rotation in the early part of July at the earliest.

Eflin (8-1) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three hits and a walk over 6.2 scoreless innings against Minnesota. He struck out nine.

The Twins had no answer for Eflin on Tuesday, who logged nine or more strikeouts for the third time this season. The 29-year-old Eflin improves to 7-0 at Tropicana Field with a 1.85 ERA while pitching to a 5.09 mark on the road. Overall, his ERA sits at an impressive 2.97 with a 0.96 WHIP and 66:9 K:BB through 11 starts (66.2 innings). Eflin's scheduled for another home start next week when the Rays host the Rangers.

Greinke (1-6) took the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits over 4.1 innings in a 6-1 loss against the Marlins. He struck out three.

Greinke held the Marlins hitless through four innings until Jesus Sanchez led off the fifth with a homer. Miami would tack on four more runs in the inning, handing Greinke his sixth loss. The 39-year-old right-hander had been pitching well coming into Tuesday's outing, posting a 2.30 ERA over his previous six starts. Greinke now sports a 4.59 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and an impressive 50:9 K:BB through 13 starts (66.2 innings) this season.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Tuesday that Woo will remain in the big-league rotation for the time being, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Woo struggled mightily in his MLB debut against the Rangers last Saturday, allowing seven runs in just two innings. With Marco Gonzales (forearm) on the shelf and Tommy Milone (shoulder) on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Tacoma, the Mariners will give one of the top prospects in their system at least one more chance to prove he's big-league ready. Divish notes that Woo is tentatively lined up to make his next start Saturday versus the Angels. The ability to miss bats that Woo showed in the minors makes him an intriguing long-term bet, but he'll carry some risk as a streaming option in redraft leagues.

MRI results revealed a flexor strain in Gonzales' left forearm, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

The good news is that there doesn't seem to be any damage done to Gonzales' UCL, but he will still be shut down from throwing for another 7-to-10 days. If all goes well during his rehab process, the 31-year-old lefty should be able to return right before the All-Star break.

Turnbull (neck) was cleared Tuesday to begin upper-body strength and conditioning work, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Turnbull got the go-ahead to increase his level of activity after undergoing a checkup MRI on Monday. He's been on the injured list since May 12 due to neck discomfort and still has a lot of hurdles to clear before he can be an option again for the Tigers' starting rotation.

Faedo had a procedure Tuesday which involved a portion of his right middle fingernail being removed, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Faedo had visited a finger specialist, who recommended and performed the minor operation. The right-hander is receiving treatment and will resume a throwing program as symptoms allow. Faedo is eligible to return from the injured list next week, but a timetable for his return is unclear at the moment.

DeGrom will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

DeGrom landed on the injured list April 29 and was shifted to the 60-day IL on Monday. The 34-year-old ace had been throwing bullpen sessions regularly and didn't appear to suffer any setbacks, but the procedure will shut him down for the season and keep him out the majority of 2024 as well. The Rangers signed deGrom to a five-year, $185 million contract in the offseason, and he will conclude 2023 with a 2.67 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and a dominant 45:4 K:BB through 30.1 innings.

Rodriguez (finger) played catch after being cleared to do so Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Tuesday marks the first time Rodriguez has thrown since landing on the 15-day injured list last week. His quick return to throwing is a positive sign, especially given the lack of clarity from the team about his timeline. The next step for Rodriguez would be to up the intensity of his throwing sessions.

Paddack (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Paddack has been cleared for mound work almost 11 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He told reporters after Tuesday's side session that he wants to be pitching in either a bullpen or rotation role for the Twins by early-to-mid September.
