Sears (6-2) earned the win during Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Seattle, allowing an unearned run on one hit and three walks with seven strikeouts in five innings.

Sears was lights-out aside from a 37-pitch second inning, when a pair of two-out walks forced in the lone run. The 26-year-old fired 53 of 86 pitches for strikes with nine of the swinging variety en route to a career-high seven strikeouts. The impressive start snaps a two-turn rough patch, during which Sears permitted 11 runs across six innings. He carries a 3.58 ERA into his next start, scheduled for Sunday against the Mets.

Cortes did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out four.

For the second start in a row, Cortes allowed one run over five innings, but he got his pitch count up to 87 after throwing just 65 pitches in his last start. The 27-year-old has failed to record a scoreless outing in eight starts since July 24, but he still owns a healthy 2.67 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through 145 innings this season. He tentatively lines up to face Boston this weekend.

Bundy allowed four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Royals on Tuesday.

Bundy gave up a two-run home run to MJ Melendez in the third inning and a solo shot to Hunter Dozier in the fifth. After continued trouble in the fifth, Bundy exited with two outs and Griffin Jax allowed an inherited runner to score, tacking a fourth run onto the starter's line. Bundy has completed five innings only once in his last five starts, though he's gone 1-1 with three no-decisions in that span. The veteran right-hander has a 4.78 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 89:26 K:BB through 131.2 innings across 27 starts this year. He's projected for a home start versus the Angels this weekend.

Greinke gave up four runs on 10 hits and struck out three in 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Tuesday.

The 10 hits allowed matched a season high for Greinke, though he managed to avoid issuing a walk for the first time in four starts. The veteran right-hander continues to struggle with pitching deep into games, as he's failed to complete six frames in three of his last four outings. For the season, he has a 4.21 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB through 124 innings across 24 starts. Greinke is projected for a home start versus the Mariners in his next outing.

Sandoval (6-9) allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out seven over five innings, earning the win Tuesday over the Rangers.

Sandoval has been effective lately, as this was his ninth straight start of two or fewer earned runs. The four walks matched his season high, a mark he's reached five times in 25 starts this year. The southpaw is now at a 3.01 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 141:57 K:BB through 137.1 innings. Sandoval is tentatively projected for a favorable home start versus the Athletics next week.

Ragans allowed two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Ragans limited the damage to a Matt Duffy two-run home run in the second inning, which went down the left-field line. This was Ragans' fourth straight no-decision, and it was also his longest of three starts since returning from a calf injury. The southpaw lowered his season ERA to 5.40 with a 1.57 WHIP and 22:14 K:BB, and he notably avoided issuing a walk for the first time in seven outings. He's projected for a weekend start at home versus the Guardians.

Wentz (2-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

The Orioles had trouble getting to Wentz on Tuesday as he held Baltimore to just five baserunners through five innings. The southpaw now has two scoreless outings and two wins in his last three starts since being recalled from the minors. He will take a 3.13 ERA into his next start.

McClanahan (12-6) took the loss against the Astros on Tuesday after he exited with neck tightness/spasms, but he expects to make his next turn through the rotation, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports. He allowed five runs on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts over four innings.

McClanahan lobbied to stay in the game but was removed for precautionary reasons, which is understandable given it was only his second start since he returned from the injured list. The 25-year-old lefty tentatively lines up to start Sunday versus the Blue Jays, though he'll likely need to throw a bullpen session before he's cleared for that outing.

Stripling allowed five runs on nine hits while striking out three in four innings of an 18-11 win Tuesday in Philadelphia. He did not factor into the decision.

Stripling entered the bottom of the fifth inning with the Blue Jays leading 7-1 but was unable to record an out and missed a chance at recording his ninth win. In the fifth, he allowed the first five batters to record hits, including Dalton Guthrie's first big-league blast, before being replaced. The poor showing ended a streak of 13 starts that Stripling did not allow more than three earned runs. He's allowed six home runs in his last five starts after allowing just two long balls in his previous eight starts.

Bello (2-6) earned the victory Tuesday in Cincinnati, striking out five in five innings while allowing a run on eight hits and two walks.

Bello was able to pitch his way out of jams all game. At one point seven out of 11 Cincinnati batters reached base but only one came around to score -- TJ Friedl on his solo homer. The home run was the first Bello's allowed in 47.1 big-league innings. Since joining Boston's rotation Aug. 24, he's posted a 2.67 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 32:12 K:BB in 30.1 innings across six starts.
