The Rangers placed Dunning on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right ankle impingement, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Left-hander Kolby Allard was summoned from Triple-A Round Rock to join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Dunning, who presumably picked up the injury at some point during his start Sunday against the Twins. With 17 walks in 30.1 innings over his last six starts, Dunning had been struggling mightily with his control of late, so the time off due to what's believed to be a minor injury could give him the chance to workshop some mechanical tweaks. He won't be eligible for activation from the IL on July 26, meaning he'll miss at least two turns through the rotation even with the All-Star break coming next week.

Mariners manager Scott Servais confirmed that Kirby will be called up from Triple-A Tacoma following the All-Star break to rejoin the big-league rotation, Jen Mueller of Root Sports Northwest reports.

Rather than due to any dissatisfaction with Kirby's performance, the Mariners elected to demote the rookie right-hander over the weekend as a means of keeping his innings in check. According to Servais, Kirby is expected to make an abbreviated start Saturday for Tacoma before making his return to the majors. The Mariners estimate that the decision to demote Kirby at this point in the calendar will save about 10 innings off his season total for 2022. Between stops with the Mariners and Double-A Arkansas this season, Kirby has thus far covered 89 frames.

Bradish (shoulder) struck out five over three perfect innings Saturday in his first rehab start for Double-A Bowie.

He pumped in 28 of his 36 pitches for strikes and looked dominant while facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list, as the Orioles felt comfortable having him bypass throwing a live batting practice session before he reported to Bowie. Bradish is expected to make at least one rehab start this week for Bowie or Triple-A Norfolk before coming off the 15-day injured list and slotting back into the Baltimore rotation following the All-Star break.

Lynch (finger) was activated from the 15-day injured list and is expected to start Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.

Lynch will make his return to the big leagues Monday after he missed over two weeks while nursing a blister on his throwing hand. The left-hander isn't expected to be on a pitch limit and he'll take on the Tigers for the first time this season. Prior to being placed on the IL, Lynch had produced a 1.86 ERA with 15 strikeouts over 9.2 frames in his last two starts.

Whitlock (hip) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance with Double-A Portland on Tuesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

The upcoming outing will mark Whitlock's second rehab appearance, after he previously tossed two innings for Triple-A Worcester on Friday and struck out three while giving up two earned runs on six hits and no walks. He'll likely be on tap for another multi-inning appearance Tuesday, and if all goes well, Whitlock should rejoin the Red Sox thereafter. After making nine starts prior to landing on the injured list, Whitlock is set to serve as a high-leverage, multi-inning reliever for Boston upon being activated.

Eovaldi (back) struck out four and allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks over three innings Sunday in his rehab start with Triple-A Worcester.

Eovaldi threw 54 pitches (40 strikes) in the start and showcased a fastball that topped out at 97 miles per hour, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Speier notes that Eovaldi will meet with the Red Sox training staff Monday, and if the team is satisfied with how he checks out physically following the rehab start, he could be activated from the 15-day injured list as soon as Friday to make a start during Boston's weekend series versus the Yankees.

Taillon registered a no-decision during Sunday's 11-6 loss to Boston, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.

Taillon was staked to an early 6-2 lead but couldn't hang on, culminating with three two-out runs scoring in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old has now surrendered 20 runs in 21 innings across his last four starts, causing his ERA to spike more than a full run from 2.70 to 4.01. Taillon is projected for a rematch with Boston next time out.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said Sunday that Montas (shoulder) "felt good" following his throwing session a day earlier, but the right-hander isn't scheduled to start during the team's three-game series in Texas that begins Monday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Oakland looks as though it will decide whether to place Montas on the injured list or include him in the rotation for next weekend's series in Houston based on how he fares during a bullpen session, which will likely come Monday or Tuesday. Though Montas checked out fine after playing catch Saturday, getting on a mound and proving he can command all his pitches without any discomfort in his shoulder will be a stiffer test. If Montas is unable to pitch in next weekend's series, the Athletics could turn to Zach Logue, Adam Oller or Austin Pruitt to make a spot start.

Kopech allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in Sunday's win over Detroit. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Kopech got off to an ugly start Sunday; he walked Riley Greene on four pitches and then served up a two-run shot to Javier Baez before recording an out. After the early struggle, Kopech kept the Tigers off the board for the rest of his outing. He broke an ugly four-start losing streak in which he allowed 16 earned runs over 21 innings. The 26-year-old righty owns a 3.35 ERA with a 72:38 K:BB through 78 innings this season. Kopech is projected to start in Minnesota next week.

Suarez (1-2) allowed four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out one in 3.2 innings to take the loss during Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Suarez hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last five outings and held Baltimore scoreless over three innings Sunday, but he struggled against the surging Orioles in the bottom of the fourth inning and took his first loss since April 30. Over his last five appearances, the southpaw has posted a 3.80 ERA in 23.2 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Dodgers on Saturday.
