Berrios (4-2) gave up two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out a career-high 13 batters Saturday against the Twins. He picked up the win.

This was Berrios' best start of the season and one of the best starts of his career. It comes on the heels of him giving up six earned runs in 2.1 innings against the Angels, so it's possible fantasy managers benched him ahead of this start. He got eight whiffs with his curveball and another eight with his sinker, as both pitches got whiffs over 60 percent of the time in this one. Berrios averaged 94.3 mph with his fourseam fastball, up from 93.8 mph on the season. He lines up to face the Tigers in Detroit next weekend.

Severino (4-1) pitched seven scoreless, one-hit innings Saturday against the Tigers. He struck out 10, walked one and picked up the win.

He was devastating with his slider, which generated whiffs on eight of 11 swings against (73 percent). Severino was topping out at 99 mph with his fastball and sitting 96.4 mph. He has 38 strikeouts in 31 innings over his last five starts and his season ERA is down to 2.95. Severino lines up for a home start against the Cubs next weekend.

Sale (ribs) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Sale didn't face any issues after throwing 25 pitches off a mound Wednesday, and he replicated that throwing session Saturday. Assuming he feels good following Saturday's bullpen, the southpaw could progress to facing live hitters next week. The 33-year-old will presumably require a rehab assignment at some point, but it's not yet clear how many minor-league outings he'll require prior to rejoining the Red Sox.

Velasquez's groin injury appears to be minor, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Although Velasquez landed on the 15-day injured list with a left groin strain Friday, it doesn't appear as though his injury is a significant concern. The right-hander played catch Friday and plans to throw a bullpen session in the coming days. It seems likely that Velasquez will be able to rejoin the White Sox following a relatively minimal IL stint, but it's not yet clear whether a rotation spot will be open since Lance Lynn (knee) is nearing a return.

Kikuchi (2-2) took the loss Friday as the Blue Jays got thumped 9-3 by the Twins, giving up four runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- over 4.2 innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

The two teams combined for seven homers in total, and Kikuchi's slight lack of command within the strike zone proved costly. It was a big step back for the southpaw, who served up only one home run in 26.2 innings over the entire month of May. Kikuchi still tossed 48 of 67 pitches for strikes in this outing, and he'll take a 3.91 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 50:24 K:BB through 46 innings into his next start on the road versus the Royals next week.

Bubic was recalled from Triple-A Omaha to start Saturday's game against the Astros.

Bubic hasn't fared particularly well in the majors this year, as he's posted a 12.83 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 13.1 innings over six appearances (five starts). He settled for a 6.59 ERA in 13.2 innings over his last three starts in the minors, but he'll get another shot as a starter with the big-league club since Zack Greinke (elbow) is sidelined until mid-June.

Kaprielian (0-3) took the loss during Friday's 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Red Sox, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in 5.1 innings.

Kaprielian surrendered two runs on three baserunners in the fourth inning and the bullpen let in two runs in the sixth after he put two runners on with one out. The 28-year-old has now lost three of eight starts and will take a 6.06 ERA and 1.35 WHIP into a start against Atlanta next week.

Eovaldi (3-2) earned the win during Friday's 7-2 victory over Oakland, allowing four hits and one walk with six strikeouts in six innings.

Eovaldi was staked to an early lead and was never in any real danger, recording his fifth start of at least five innings while surrendering two runs or fewer. The 32-year-old fired 62 of 93 pitches for strikes with 16 of the swinging variety and now sports a 3.41 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 11 outings. He's set to take the hill again next week against the Angels.

Bubic is on the Royals' taxi squad and could be promoted to the active roster to start Saturday at home versus the Astros, Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star reports.

Bubic has made three starts for Triple-A Omaha since he was sent down on May 12. He's struggled with a 6.59 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 13.2 innings, but the Royals are set to need a fresh arm in their rotation with Zack Greinke (elbow) sidelined until mid-June.

Singer (2-1) allowed seven runs on eight hits and no walks with four strikeouts in five innings, taking the loss against the Astros on Friday.

Singer had allowed just two homers in 25.1 innings this season, but the Astros muscled up for three long balls Friday to account for six of the seven runs on his line. The right-hander has been mostly solid since rejoining the rotation -- this was his first bad start in four since May 17. He owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:4 K:BB across 30.1 innings overall. He'll look to bounce back in another tough home matchup next week versus the Blue Jays.
