Singer allowed a hit and struck out two in two scoreless innings in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the White Sox.

Singer gave up four runs in three innings in his first appearance of the year, but he's cover 2.2 scoreless frames in his last two outings. The right-hander has added a 6:1 K:BB this season in a small sample. For now, he's expected to remain in a multi-inning relief role, but he will be near the top of the list of candidates for spot starts whenever the Royals need one.

Kaprielian (shoulder) allowed five earned runs on three hits and four walks over four innings to take the loss in Triple-A Las Vegas' defeat at the hands of Tacoma on Tuesday. He also hit a batter and struck out two.

It was about as rough an outing for Kaprielian as the numbers imply, with the right-hander only getting 46 of his 84 pitches into the strike zone during his labor-intensive outing. Kaprielian's previously ailing shoulder is at least being put to stringent tests in his last two outings, but his results in his two starts with the Aviators have left plenty to be desired. Given the uneven performances, the Athletics may determine Kaprielian needs at least one more turn in the minors before being activated.

McKenzie (0-2) took the loss during Tuesday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Angels, allowing four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.

McKenzie pitched okay against a potent Angels lineup, allowing a single run in the second and fifth innings with a two-run Mike Trout home run in the third accounting for half the damage. The 24-year-old showed improvement despite the four earned runs, as he worked his most innings of the season while recording a high pitch count of 90. In addition, McKenzie threw 75.6 percent of his pitches for strikes and didn't issue any free passes after marks of 50 percent and four in his previous outing. He'll go for his first win of the season against Oakland on Sunday.

Severino (2-0) earned the win after striking out five in six innings while allowing four runs on three hits and two walks in a 12-8 victory Tuesday over Baltimore.

Severino efficiently retired the first 14 batters he faced and didn't allow a hit through the first five innings, needing just 62 pitches. After retiring the first batter in the sixth, he allowed a single, a walk and a three-run homer to cut the Yankees' lead in half. Following a leadoff double in the seventh, he was replaced. It was the first time since 2018 that he pitched six innings in a game. The Yankees have won all four of Severino's starts this year as he's compiled a 3.32 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 19 innings.

Lyles (1-2) took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three in 4.2 innings in a 12-8 defeat Tuesday against the Yankees.

After cruising through the first two innings, Lyles gave up home runs in each of the next three frames as the Yankees jumped out to a 6-0 lead. After giving up a whopping 38 homers last season, he had only allowed one home run in his first three starts. That changed quickly as Anthony Rizzo tagged him twice and Joey Gallo added a long ball. Consistency has been a challenge throughout the career of the 31-year-old and continues to be the case as he's had two good and two bad starts.

Sandoval (1-0) registered the win during Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Cleveland, allowing two hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in seven scoreless innings.

Sandoval brought his best stuff Tuesday, limiting Cleveland to three baserunners and retiring 12 straight at one point. The 25-year-old fired 59 of 90 pitches for strikes and is yet to surrender a run during 15 innings across three starts, all Halos wins. He's currently slated to pitch Monday against the White Sox for an encore.

Gray (hamstring) will not be activated from the 10-day IL when eligible Wednesday despite throwing a second bullpen session Tuesday without issue, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said it hopefully won't be too much longer before he's activated. The Twins may move back to a six-man rotation when Gray is ready to return, as the other five starters have been throwing well.

Odorizzi (1-2) tossed six innings, giving up one run on one hit and a walk while striking out four on his way to a win Tuesday over the Rangers.

Odorizzi was almost perfect Tuesday with his only run given up coming on an Adolis Garcia solo homer in the bottom of the second inning. His four strikeouts were a season high while he picked up his first win of the campaign. After back-to-back challenging outings, Tuesday's start brought his season numbers from a 9.00 ERA and 2.56 WHIP to a more manageable 6.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. He'll look to build off of this start when he faces the Mariners on Monday.

Paddack pitched 5.2 innings, surrendering one run on five hits and a walk while striking out six in Tuesday's victory over the Tigers. He did not factor into the game's decision.

Paddack had his best outing of the season Tuesday, with his only blemish coming on a two-out double by Javier Baez in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring Derek Hill and ending the starter's day on the mound. His six strikeouts were a season high and had the bullpen not blown it, he would have picked up his first win of the campaign. The right-hander's season numbers now sit at a 3.68 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 14.2 innings.

Keuchel (1-2) got the loss Tuesday after he allowed two runs (zero earned) over four innings, giving up two hits and walking five while striking out two versus the Royals.

Keuchel struggled with his command in this one, throwing only 42 of his 88 pitches for strikes and walking a season-high five batters. The only damage against him came in the fourth inning when Salvador Perez and Carlos Santana scored after Perez reached base on an error to open the inning, making both runs unearned. Keuchel has had an uneven start to the season and now boasts a 9.00 ERA and 2.40 WHIP with seven strikeouts in 10 innings over three outings on the mound. He'll look to turn it around in his next projected start Sunday against the Angels.
