Rodriguez allowed three runs on four hits across six innings and did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He walked two and struck out six.

Rodriguez was mostly good in this one, with a two-run home run by Max Kepler in the fourth inning probably the pitch he'd most want back. It was still an encouraging outing for the lefty, who has now logged consecutive quality starts to lower his season ERA to 5.03. Rodriguez will look to keep pitching well and pick up his first win with the Tigers in his next start.

Canning (back) threw 30 pitches, including fastballs and changeups, in a bullpen session Tuesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Canning has gradually been raising his pitch count as he works his way toward a return from the lower back stress fracture he suffered last July. The right-hander was initially expected to be ready for Opening Day but has been delayed by a setback that he endured early this spring. Canning has been on a Tuesday/Friday throwing schedule, and he will follow that again this week, possibly upping his pitch count to 35 this Friday, per Blum.

Lynch (2-1) picked up the win Tuesday after tossing six scoreless innings, surrendering two hits and walking two batters while striking out seven in the victory over the White Sox.

Lynch limited the White Sox to just four baserunners in Tuesday's contest and only allowed one extra-base hit, a double by Yasmani Grandal in the bottom of the fourth inning. The 25-year-old has now rattled off 11 combined scoreless innings over his last two starts after giving up six runs in his first outing of the season against the Cardinals on April 12. Lynch will look to keep it up in his next start, which tentatively lines up for Sunday versus the Yankees.

Gilbert (3-0) earned the victory and struck out seven in 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and three walks in an 8-4 win Tuesday in Tampa Bay.

Gilbert did not allow a hit through the first four innings and ended up scattering two singles amongst his three walks with only one baserunner making it to second base. Through four starts this year, he has allowed two runs (one earned) and has left each start in line for the win. With a 0.40 ERA and 0.85 WHIP, the 24-year-old is off to one of the best starts in baseball and has not allowed an earned run since the first inning of his first start.

Manning (shoulder) hasn't been cleared to resume throwing since he's still experiencing tightness, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The right-hander was reportedly scheduled to throw a bullpen session over the weekend, but that apparently didn't happen since the tightness remains an ongoing issue. Manning landed on the injured list April 20 with right shoulder inflammation and remains without a timeline for his return.

Mize (elbow) began a throwing program Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Mize has been sidelined nearly two weeks by a medial elbow sprain, and his return to throwing is a significant step in his recovery. The 24-year-old will need to build his arm back up after the brief shutdown, so he's unlikely to be back from the injured list for at least a couple weeks.

Ryu (forearm) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Ryu continues to work his way back from left forearm inflammation, an issue which was originally expected to cost him just two or three starts. He's already missed two turns in the rotation and will miss at least one more, as he's still expected to advance to live batting practice at some point this week before returning to game action.

Kent (hamstring) was activated from the 7-day IL before Tuesday's game for Double-A Frisco and immediately returned to the rotation. He gave up three runs with three strikeouts and one walk over 2.2 innings.

Kent has given up six runs in 6.2 innings in two starts for Frisco. He missed one start with a hamstring injury.

Valdez allowed one run (none earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings Monday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Valdez was regularly in danger in the latter half of his start, as he allowed multiple hitters to reach base in each of his final three frames. However, he induced 10 groundball outs to work around the traffic on the basepaths and turn in an effective outing. Though Valdez has maintained a 3.15 ERA across 20 innings to begin the season, he has now walked multiple batters in each of his last three starts -- something he will need to improve upon to remain effective.

Berrios didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven-plus innings. He struck out four.

The former Twin delivered his second straight quality start on 89 pitches (60 strikes), but Berrios nearly came away with his second win of the year as well -- he blanked Boston for seven innings before giving up back-to-back singles to begin the eighth, then had to watch Adam Cimber let both inherited runners come around to score, tying the game at 2-2. Berrios' ratios haven't quite dug their way out of the hole he created Opening Day, but over his last three outings he has a 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB through 18 innings.
