Giolito tossed four innings against the Angels on Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight. He did not factor in the decision.

A pair of Angels long balls were responsible for all three runs Giolito surrendered, though he allowed only one additional hit outside of the homers. The right-hander flashed his dominant arsenal by inducing 18 swinging strikes and racking up eight punchouts in only four frames; however, the White Sox elected to pull him after 87 pitches, likely in deference to the fact that he hadn't pitched in two weeks due to a hamstring injury. Giolito is tentatively scheduled to make his next start at Detroit on Monday.

Eovaldi got a no-decision in an 8-4 win over Seattle on Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in five innings.

Eovaldi brought his typical quality stuff Tuesday aside from a fourth inning that saw him permit both runs charged to his ledger. The nine strikeouts were one off his season high and the 31-year-old has now recorded at least eight strikeouts in each of his last three games. Dating back to his Aug. 11 start, Eovaldi has a 1.90 ERA in 44.2 innings across eight starts.

Cole (15-7) allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Orioles.

Cole returned from a hamstring injury to make his first start since Sept. 7. He showed some rust early, allowing a leadoff double and two walks in the first frame. However, he settled in from there and allowed his only earned run in the fifth inning. Cole has been dominant across his last six starts, not once permitting more than two earned runs to maintain a 1.35 ERA with a 48:11 K:BB across 33.1 frames. Overall, Cole has a 2.75 ERA across 163.2 innings on the campaign.

Berrios (11-8) was removed from Tuesday's start against the Rays with left abdominal tightness, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports. He was charged with the loss after allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts and zero walks across seven innings.

Berrios was pulled after 87 pitches and likely would have started at least one more frame if not for the injury. The specifics of the issue remain unclear, but his outlook should receive more clarity over the next couple days as he continues to be evaluated.

Rasmussen (3-1) earned the win Tuesday after pitching five scoreless innings against the Blue Jays. He surrendered two hits, walked one and struck out three.

The 26-year-old was able to limit the damage to just three baserunners, none of which passed second base. He only threw 52 pitches in the contest as the team continues to limit his innings. Rasmussen has posted a 1.33 ERA and 0.67 WHIP in six starts since Aug. 12. He may not make another start this week with Dietrich Enns expected to take the ball against Detroit and Shane McClanahan (back) possibly returning after the 10-day minimum.

Berrios (11-8) picked up a tough-luck loss after pitching seven innings of one-run ball against the Rays on Tuesday. He gave up four hits while striking out four.

The 27-year-old surrendered a solo home run to Ji-Man Choi in the second inning, which amounted to all the damage against him in the contest. It was his fourth consecutive quality start; he has posted a 1.98 ERA and 0.77 WHIP over his last 27.1 innings. Berrios will look to extend his streak to five in his next projected start Monday against the Rays.

Manager Joe Maddon said he expects Detmers (illness) to be activated from the COVID-19 injured list for the Sept. 25 game against Seattle, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Detmers tested positive for COVID-19 in late August and has been throwing bullpen sessions since rejoining the team Sept. 5, and he's taking some time to build back up before returning to the mound for the Angels. The 22-year-old has struggled in his first taste of the majors this year with a 7.11 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB across 19 innings.

Manager Joe Maddon said he hopes Cobb (wrist) is able to start Thursday against the White Sox, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Cobb has apparently checked out OK over the past few days after completing a simulated game Friday, and he's now expected to rejoin the starting rotation. The veteran right-hander has been on the shelf since late July and figures to face some workload limitations in his return to the mound, especially since he's set to return without a rehab assignment.

Manager Aaron Boone said that Severino (shoulder) will face live hitters later this week, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Severino's Monday bullpen session figures to have gone well given that he's now progressing to facing hitters. Assuming he continues to progress without any setbacks, the right-hander could start a rehab assignment sometime within the next week, which would likely set him up to join the Yankees' bullpen before the end of the regular season.

Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that the team is hoping German (shoulder) will be able to be activated from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming weekend series against Cleveland, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

The Yankees are going to wait to see how German responds to his rehab outing Tuesday before officially determining when he'll be activated. The right-hander initially landed on the IL in late July with a right rotator cuff strain, and he later faced a setback in his recovery when soreness returned in mid-August. He's expected to rejoin the New York bullpen once activated.
