Boyd (elbow strain) will see orthopedic surgeon Dr. Keith Meister for an evaluation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Considering Meister just performed Tommy John surgery on Tigers catcher Jake Rogers, this is a concerning development. It seems highly unlikely that Boyd will pitch again this season and it's possible he won't pitch again until the 2023 season.

Greinke (COVID-19) will start Tuesday against the Rangers, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It's a nice matchup for Greinke's first start back from the COVID-19 injured list. He has not pitched since Aug. 29 and logged a 3.72 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 29 innings in five August starts. Greinke only has three strikeouts in 16 innings over his last three starts.

Bassitt (face) threw 30 pitches in his bullpen session Saturday and could make multiple starts before the end of the season, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

He will travel with the team on the upcoming road trip and will throw another bullpen session in Kansas City next week. That could be the final tuneup before he slots back into the rotation.

Allard was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against Oakland due to an illness.

Wes Benjamin will start in what will amount to a bullpen game. It's unclear when Allard will be ready to return to the rotation.

Boyd was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left elbow strain.

Given the timing of the injury, this may mean the end of Boyd's season. He dealt with elbow soreness from mid-June to late-August and was scratched from Friday's start. Tyler Alexander replaced him in the rotation.

Contrary to a previous report, Stripling will not start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Thomas Hatch will get the start, but Stripling could still pitch in relief at some point during Saturday's twin bill.

Lynch allowed four earned runs on seven hits while striking out four across six innings in the win over the Twins on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Lynch surrendered a pair of homers in the first inning to Byron Buxton and Josh Donaldson before recording an out. However, after he gave up the four runs to the first four batters he faced, he allowed no further damage over six frames. The 24-year-old has a 5.37 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with 47 strikeouts in 57 innings.

Seabold will start Saturday's game against the White Sox, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The 25-year-old righty is one of Boston's top pitching prospects and may have debuted earlier in the year if he hadn't missed the first few months of the season with an elbow injury. He has a 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 38.1 innings across his last seven starts at Triple-A. With Chris Sale and Nick Pivetta on the COVID-19 injured list, it's possible Seabold could stick around to make another start.

Stripling will start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

This will be Stripling's first big-league appearance since Aug. 10, as he missed a month with an oblique injury. He logged 1.1 innings in a rehab appearance earlier this week, so he may not be able to pitch enough innings to qualify for the win in Saturday's nightcap.

Kremer was recalled to start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

He is up as the 29th man, so this may just be a spot start. Kremer hasn't pitched in the majors since June 24 in Toronto, where he allowed six runs and walked five batters in one-third of an inning. Since then, he has logged a 5.64 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 44.2 innings at Triple-A.
