Turnbull (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Turnbull resumed throwing at the end of June, but he felt something recently and was brought from Lakeland to Dallas to be evaluated, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports. The right-hander will be shut down from throwing following his setback, and the team considers early August to be a best-case scenario for his return. Ian Krol's contract was selected by the Tigers as part of a corresponding move.

The Red Sox plan to use Houck in an undefined role after the All-Star break, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Houck has been starting at Triple-A Worcester and could be used as a spot starter in the second half of July after working his way back from flexor muscle tightness. "He feels good. Everything went well in the last [start]," manager Alex Cora said. "As you guys know, he's going to be part of this at one point. How soon, we don't know yet but he's important for us and he will contribute." Since returning from the injury, Houck has a 3.07 ERA with 19 strikeouts and three walks over 14.2 innings for the WooSox.

Eovaldi (9-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Red Sox fell 5-3 to the Angels, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out nine.

The nine whiffs were his highest total since April 19, but Eovaldi was getting too much of the plate all night as six of the Angels' nine hits went for extra bases. Unless the Red Sox shuffle around their rotation, the right-hander will take a 3.66 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 99:20 K:BB through 103.1 innings into the All-Star break.

Valdez allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings but walked away with a no-decision against the Athletics on Tuesday.

The A's ambushed Valdez for three runs in each of the first two innings. No other team has been able to hit Valdez that way, as he entered the game with a 2.18 ERA, a run of six straight quality starts and not having allowed more than three runs in a game. Thankfully, Houston's offense showed up and prevented his second loss of the season. The left-hander looks to return to his previous form in his next start, which lines up to be Sunday against the Yankees.

Bassitt didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-6 loss to the Astros, coughing up six runs on eight hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out six.

The A's handed Bassitt a 6-2 lead after two innings but the right-hander couldn't make it stick, exiting the game in the fifth after Yordan Alvarez took him deep for the second time. Bassitt had delivered quality starts in three straight outings coming into Tuesday and hadn't allowed more than four runs in a start all year, so he probably gets a mulligan on this one. He has a 3.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 115:28 K:BB through 111 innings and lines up for one more start before the All-Star break, on the road against the Rangers.

Berrios (7-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over seven innings as the Twins were downed 4-1 by the White Sox. He struck out 10.

The right-hander only had one bad inning, as two walks, a Miguel Sano error and a single led to two Chicago runs, but even that was too much for the Minnesota offense to overcome. It was only the second time this season Berrios fanned double-digit batters but the quality start was his seventh, and he sports a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 106:27 K:BB as he lines up to face the Tigers at home just before the All-Star break.

Rodon (7-3) allowed one run on seven hits and struck out eight over six innings to earn the win over Minnesota on Tuesday.

An animated Rodon walked off the mound following the sixth inning after getting out of a jam. The Twins touched him for their lone run earlier in the inning, but the recently named All-Star punched out the final two batters. Rodon has struck out at least eight batters in nine consecutive starts and ends the first half with a 2.31 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Next up for Rodon is next Tuesday's All-Star Game. The rotation post-break has not been set, but it's a good bet Rodon pitches the following weekend.

Taillon (4-4) earned the win Tuesday against the Mariners after allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out nine over seven innings.

Taillon was given a massive lead to work with early on after the Yankees climbed out to an 8-0 advantage through the first three innings. The 29-year-old still held his own and delivered a gem after he was roughed up his last time out. Taillon went seven innings for the first time in 2021 and tied his season high in strikeouts while inducing 11 total swinging strikes. He's experienced an uptick in strikeouts this year, averaging a career-best 9.6 K/9, but he still owns an inflated 5.05 ERA to go along with a 1.30 WHIP and 82:22 K:BB over 76.2 innings. He's in line to end the week with a tough road tilt against the Astros before the league heads into the All-Star break.

Wells allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one in one inning in Tuesday's 7-5 win over Toronto.

Prior to Tuesday, Wells had allowed just two hits while striking out eight across six scoreless innings in his last five outings. The reliever's setback didn't cost Baltimore on Tuesday, but it did raise his ERA to 3.86. He's also posted a 0.96 WHIP and 49:8 K:BB across 39.2 innings in a low-leverage role.

Matz (7-4) took the loss Tuesday at Baltimore after giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and zero walks across four innings.

The left-hander generated 10 swinging strikes on only 68 pitches, but he also gave up plenty of hard contact with Pedro Severino and Cedric Mullins taking him deep. Matz has allowed seven earned runs over 6.2 frames in two starts since returning from the injured list. He has a 4.72 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 82:21 K:BB in 76.1 innings this season, and he's projected to start Sunday in Tampa Bay to close out the first half of the season for Toronto.
