Ryu allowed five runs on six hits and two walks over five innings Monday, striking out five in the win over the Yankees. He did not factor in the decision.

Ryu served up three solo homers Monday, including back-to-back blasts by Luke Voit and Aaron Hicks in the first inning. Despite leaving the contest down 5-2, Toronto's offense exploded for 10 runs in the sixth frame to avoid sticking Ryu with his second loss of the season. The 33-year-old southpaw will carry a 3.19 ERA into Sunday's home start against the Mets.

Javier (4-2) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings in a loss to the Athletics on Monday. He struck out three.

Javier allowed a pair of runs, including a Sean Murphy solo shot, in the second inning. With the Astros failing to score a run, it was enough to leave Javier with the loss. The 23-year-old right-hander now has a 3.38 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 37 strikeouts across 42.2 innings this year. He'll try to get back in the win column Sunday in a road start versus the Dodgers.

Bassitt (3-2) earned the win Monday with seven scoreless innings versus the Astros. He allowed seven hits and struck out four.

Bassitt was a little generous with the hits, but all seven were singles and they ultimately didn't hurt his performance. The right-hander struggled in his last outing against the Astros, so Monday's outing was an encouraging improvement. Overall, Bassitt has a 3.12 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 34 strikeouts across 43.1 innings this season. His next start is expected to be Friday as part of a doubleheader versus the Rangers.

Keller (3-2) took the loss Monday, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk over 6.2 innings as the Royals fell 5-2 to Cleveland. He struck out one.

All eight hits off Keller were singles, but Cleveland was able to string them together enough to generate some offense. The 25-year-old has now been tagged for five runs in two of his last three outings, but he'll still take a strong 2.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP into his next start Saturday, at home against the Pirates.

Morton (1-2) took the loss Monday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over five innings in a 6-1 loss to the Nationals. He struck out three.

The right-hander threw 57 pitches (45 strikes) before exiting, as he continues to build his stamina back up after his month-long absence from the rotation. Morton now has a 4.94 ERA and 24:7 K:BB through 23.2 innings this season, but he should at least be close to fully stretched out for his next start Sunday, at home against the Red Sox.

Gonzales (5-2) picked up the win in Monday's 8-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

The southpaw has now delivered quality starts in three of his last four outings and five of his last seven. Gonzales will take a career-best 3.02 ERA and 46:4 K:BB through 50.2 innings into his next start, currently scheduled for Sept. 14 as part of a homer doubleheader against the A's.

Allard (0-5) took the loss Monday as the Rangers fell 8-4 to the Mariners, coughing up eight runs on five hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out five.

After delivering a quality start in his last outing, Allard took a huge step backwards with his worst performance of the year. Two of the hits off him left the yard, doubling the number of homers he's served up this season, and the rough night tacked nearly two full runs onto his ERA. He'll carry a 7.22 ERA and 28:16 K:BB through 28.2 innings into his next start Saturday as part of a home doubleheader against the A's.

Teheran is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers in Texas.

Teheran was demoted to the bullpen three weeks ago, but he's started in his last two appearances since tossing five innings in long relief Aug. 20. With young starters Jose Suarez and Patrick Sandoval having faltered in their recent outings with the Angels, Teheran looks like he'll hold down a rotation spot for the time being. Over his six outings this season, Teheran has posted a 7.94 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB in 22.2 innings.

Garcia will join Houston's rotation to start Wednesday's game against the Athletics in Oakland, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Houston will be playing its second doubleheader in four days Tuesday and recently lost another starter (Lance McCullers, neck) to the injured list, so Garcia will be called upon to fortify the rotation. The 23-year-old will likely have his pitch count capped during the start, but he should be able to cover at least five innings after he worked in long relief in his MLB debut Friday against the Angels. He covered 4.1 innings (66 pitches) out of the bullpen, giving up a run on one hit (a solo home run) and three walks while striking out two. Garcia worked as a starter in the minors in 2019, splitting time between High-A Fayetteville and Low-A Quad Cities and compiling a 2.98 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 108.2 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .172 average.

Eovaldi (calf) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Julian McWilliams of the Boston Globe reports.

Eovaldi came out of the bullpen session feeling well and has another bullpen scheduled for Wednesday in Philadelphia during the team's off day. There's a chance he comes off the injured list for the series against the Rays that begins Thursday or the next series against the Marlins.
