Ryu allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in Friday's win against the Rays. He didn't factor into the decision.

Ryu tossed three scoreless frames to begin his Opening Day start, but he gave up his first run in a Blue Jays uniform during the fourth inning. He nearly escaped the fifth inning, but Yoshi Tsutsugo hit a two-run homer with two outs, leading to Ryu's removal. The southpaw said after the game that nerves got the better of him since he was making his first start with a new club. In 44 starts during the past two seasons with the Dodgers, the 33-year-old posted a 2.21 ERA and 1.01 WHIP while recording a 21-8 record. Ryu's next start should come at home Thursday against the Nationals.

Bieber (1-0) earned the win during Friday's 2-0 victory over the Royals. He tossed six scoreless innings, giving up four hits and one walk while fanning 14.

Bieber posted a strong sophomore campaign in 2019 with a 3.28 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 10.9 K/9 across 214.1 innings, and it seems like he didn't miss a beat in the season opener after this stellar 14-strikeout performance. He has always been a strikeout pitcher, and he posted a 6.5 K/BB last season. He will try to build on this impressive debut in his upcoming start, scheduled for July 29 at home against the White Sox.

Snell will start Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Snell wasn't very effective in his final tuneup during an intrasquad game Monday, but he'll take the mound Sunday for the Rays' third game of the season. Despite the southpaw's struggles Monday, he isn't expected to have any workload restrictions in his first regular-season start. After winning the AL Cy Young Award in 2018, Snell underwent elbow surgery last season after posting a 4.29 ERA and 147:40 K:BB over 107 innings across 23 starts.

Eovaldi (1-0) earned the win during Friday's 13-2 victory over the Orioles. He tossed six innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out four.

Eovaldi wasn't dominant by any means, but he shut down the Orioles while posting a quality start without a lot of effort. His next start is scheduled for July 29 at the Mets, where he is expected to face Jacob deGrom in a tougher matchup.

Milone (0-1) was tagged with the loss during Friday's 13-2 loss to the Red Sox. He gave up four runs on four hits and three walks while fanning five in just three innings of work.

Milone struggled in his first start of the season, lasting just three innings against a Boston offense that figured him out quickly. He posted a 4.76 ERA in 111.2 innings last season with the Mariners, so fantasy managers should keep their expectations for Milone very low despite his Opening Day assignment. His next start is scheduled for July 29 at home against the Marlins.

Hill will not make his scheduled start Saturday and his Twins debut has been pushed back, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Randy Dobnak will start Saturday against the White Sox.

No reason was given for the change, but it would seem likely to be health related due to the sudden switch, and given Hill's extensive injury history.

Boyd (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in a loss to the Reds on Friday.

This line is disappointing and it could have been worse. Boyd allowed five straight hitters to reach base -- walk, single, HBP, HBP, single -- before he recorded his first out. The lefty managed to limit the damage to two runs in that first inning, but he later gave up a homer to Joey Votto and the swing-and-miss stuff was just not there in this one. Fortunately, Boyd is in good position to bounce back with a home start against Kansas City next on the docket.

Chiirinos, who did not report to summer camp until Sunday due to a positive COVID-19 test, impressed while working up to 62 pitches in a simulated game Thursday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. "We were all really encouraged by Yonny," manager Kevin Cash said. "It was very much of a work day for him. He wasn't up there with the intent to strike everybody out -- it was basically with the intent to command his pitches. The stuff and the readings that we got in those four innings was really, really positive."

The right-hander faced the trio of Kevin Kiermaier, Mike Brosseau and Jose Martinez and was able to get 42 of his offerings into the strike zone. Chirinos is slated to serve primarily as a traditional starter this season after often working as a bulk reliever following an opener in the last two campaigns, and he remains on track to take the hill for the first time in 2020 against Atlanta on Tuesday.

Urquidy (undisclosed) remains weeks away from being ready to take the field, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Urquidy was unable to join his teammates for workouts until Friday for undisclosed reasons. While the nature of his absence remains unexplained, he evidently was unable to perform any baseball activities while away from the team. He'll need to go through a full preseason buildup before he's ready to pitch in a game.

Mean (arm) is eligible to come off the injured list Thursday and is expected to start that day against the Marlins, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The quick return would have the left-hander starting the seventh game of the season, so he'd only miss his first turn through the rotation while having his second outing pushed back one day. Means will likely need to complete a bullpen or live batting practice session before gaining full clearance to return.
